Made and appointment and was told the visit was covered through insurance. A few months after the appointment, Harpeth Valley Dermatology is calling me, explaining that the visit is no longer covered through insurance.
I would have never made the appointment if it was not covered through insurance. Now they are turning me into collections. They could have easily absorbed the costs at around $200.
I do not recommend visiting Harpeth Dermatology. Very unorganized business practices allowed for this to happen in the first place.

******, I apologize that you did not understand the contract that you had with your insurance company. Every insurance contract is unique which is why we never make assurances about coverage and recommend that you verify with your plan. We are in network with all major insurance carriers, but if your card specifically requires you to receive a referral, then that is your responsibility. As a small business it is not be possible for us to “absorb the cost” for every patient who does not understand their insurance contract.

Please listen to the phone call when the appointment was made. The lady was assuring that the visit was covered, then proceeded to take my insurance copay when I arrived. This is not good business practice. Now, Harpeth Valley Dermatology holds all credit card information on file, after they take your "insurance copay".
