My son has searched for help for years and chose Serenity House. He was there for approximately two weeks when he was discharged for not being positive in the group sessions. I tried to convince them to reconsider their decision and they refused, We made the three hour drive to pick him up and found him sitting on the curb with his luggage. This was devastating to him to be rejected by the facility that was supposed to help him with recovery. After reading the reviews, I found that this seems to be a normal practice. He felt that he was blindsided by being told that he had to leave. I would not recommend them to anyone because I feel that this has been a huge setback to his recovery.

While Serenity House as a treatment center saves lives and is very exceptional in what it does, their Serenity House Legacy Sober Living has gone drastically downhill. Appliances remain broken for over a year. Air conditioner/heater units in the residential rooms are non-functional and have remained broken for years. I have lived there three years and so far two staff members have gotten into relationships with clients and had to leave. Furniture is in disrepair. Clients have very few rights and few recourses to address any issues. Management only seems to care about getting paid. Relapse rates at Legacy House are very high. Although again, I want to stress how great, compassionate and caring the counselor staff is at Serenity treatment center, but this does not carrover to their sober living house, the Legacy.
