Out of 23 bids, I was high bidder for a firearm advertised by Caroline Colt Co. Their ad stated, 'Colt Model PYTHON Revolver RARE 3" COMBAT 357 Mag 1972 MFG Excellent. According to Colt MFG, This 'HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE', 'RARE' firearm is nothing more than a Parts Gun that has had the barrel changed from 2 1/2 inch to 3' by someone in order to attract a higher sale price. . I gave them every opportunity to make this right by refunding what I paid them, Caroline Colt Co. made it clear they would not refund me and blocked any further communication. This was NOT a mistake. They intentionally mis-represented this firearm. In my state this constitutes FRAUD. It amazes me that a business would trade customers and reputation in order to cheat someone out of an extra dollar. Remember- it ISN'T slander when you use THEIR exact words-which I cut and pasted here.
I have their enitire advertisement available as well as all correspondence by e-mail. Their arguement is the gun was advertised as a 3 inch Python and that is what I received. What they fail to address is it is a 2 1/2 inch Python that has had a 3 inch barrel added to it, It is NOT rare, it is NOT a combat python, it is NOT highly Collectible, it is NOT a Top Tier Collector Piece. I PAID $4,255 . If advertised correctly, the value of a 'Parts Gun' would be $1,200--$1,500 Max. This was a blantant rip-off by them.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/15/2023

This customer purchased this firearm on 12/12/2022 and did not contact us until 3/10/23.  We have a 5 day return policy and he didn't even contact us with any issues during that time.  The customer left us an A+ feedback on Gunbroker stating that he was happy with his firearm.  We sold him a 3" barrel Colt Python which his what he received and we did not have a Colt letter when we sold this item as sated in the listing.  We cannot guarantee anything original on a firearm unless it has a letter.  He didn't even contact Colt himself until 3/9 which we confirmed with them and he heard back from them in 24 hours about the letter before they shipped it.  He could have done that within the 5 business days and had he been unhappy we might have worked with him.  However, he waited almost 3 months to contact us well out of our return policy and threatening our company by emails which we have zero tolerance for.  We will not give a refund for this firearm and we will not give into threats because he wants something that he didn't purchase. I have attached the order as stated it is a 3" python which is what he received.  Along with the date of purchase.
