When we were at our appointment, they said insurance denied coverage, charged us an amount and had us pay half then saying we could pay the other half in six months. Found out later that insurance did cover it, they just charged more than the insurance had agreed to, so it cost us out of pocket. Got a random charge on my card today from them, and discovered that after we had signed the paperwork, they wrote in a monthly billing plan. One we did not agree to. Since we found out after the fact that insurance did cover the MRIs, when we received a bill for a little over $60 dollars, we thought that was all we had left to pay after insurance finally stepped in. But no, apparently the still owe the remaining $600, but instead of sending us a bill to pay, they just charged our card without our permission. We neither authorized that card for a monthly plan nor set up a payment date. The most annoying part is that since we didn’t get a copy of the original paperwork (lesson learned), we can’t prove wrong doing. Would love to actually be able to file a claim against them, but know it would go no where since they are good at the fraud they are committing.

I would like to provide some clarity to the information that Mrs. D. is referring to. I have only spoken with her husband and have not visited with her regarding this issue. It was my understanding the Mrs. D. was not present for the appointment but I am still seeking clarification so that I have accurate information. The insurance approved the scan on 8/8/23 for the amount of $1276.54. This total is high so we asked insurance to reverify on 8/10/23 and they came back with $1220.28. I have the original paperwork showing that they paid half down $612.14 and half was set up on a 6 month payment plan (we do not charge any fees and allow patients to do in house payments in order to accommodate patients as best as possible). I will attach the signed plan which they should have been given a copy of and if not, I absolutely apologize for as that was an oversight and not anything intentionally. Once the claim goes in from the billing department in Dallas it is their (the patient's) insurance that determines if they owe less or more than reported to us. We do not receive that EOB Estimation of Benefits here and have no knowledge of that information as again, all of that would be housed with billing in Dallas (we merely charge what is reported by the patient's insurance and do the scanning). I spoke with Mrs. D.'s husband who I also explained that we could also help with the large amount by doing 2 other things. Care credit is available at 12 mo no interest which would lower the payments considerably ($42.37) or I could start the plan over in house and give them another month to pay at $84.75. Both of these would lower the current payment of $101.60 but he chose to stick with the payment that was originally presented. My passion is to help people and help them try to afford their medical care and needs even when insurance presents with a high deductible. This is why we present so many options. I never want there to be any miscommunication but I am not sure that everything was communicated correctly from us to the husband and then to his wife clearly. Due to HIPPA I will try to copy the payment plan so that the patient name is not viewable. Apparently it will not allow me to attach this document but I will be glad to email if available. Please let me know how I can help and thank you

I have tried to submit a copy of the signed document herein but it will not allow me to paste it in. The document was signed with payments coming out beginning Sept 20, 2023 for 101.69 and continuing for 6 mo. by Mr. Duck. It also gives a Billing ID number where this plan was stored in Trust Commerce for the management of the plan and then all card information is deleted when the plan ends. This is the manner all plans are established and handled even if it were the doctor themselves coming to see us. We would not anyone turned away due to the money reported to us by insurance being a high amount.
