    *********************** **** came out to our residence to give us a quote to build an outdoor firepit. He quoted us a total cost of $4995. $2970 was the deposit for purchase of materials, and labor at $2250 that was to be paid at the end of the job. ************ said he could begin construction once he bought the materials which would be 10 Nov 2023. We accepted the bid and send the payment of $2970 (for materials) via PayPal on 3 Nov. 2023. On 8 Dec, we received a phone call from ****************** saying he was unable to start the firepit construction because his father had died and he was preparing for the funeral. We understand things happen, and we gave him the benefit of the doubt. We called about a few later to check on things and when or if the firepit would be constructed. He informed us that he bought the materials and was just waiting to pick them up. When he didn't show up again, he claimed that the business he "bought" the materials from sold his order because he didn't pick them ** in time and was waiting for a refund. We then determined we didn't have time to wait on ************ and asked for a refund. He concurred and told us he would refund us when the business refunded his account. Time passed and we emailed, texted, and called regarding the refund of materials and he claimed his bank was holding the funds. Then our calls were ignored and we called an alternate number which was his mother who informed us that her son was lying about the father's death and he was in fact alive. ************ has been evading our calls, messages and emails. He has no intention of paying us back or even doing the work. Stay away from this guy at all costs! He is a liar and cheat and will steal your money from you. If he did this to 2 veterans, he will do it to you as well.

    At the time of this review posting there was a pending PayPal dispute resolution case and was resolved and the customer was refunded on 12/19/23
