They repaired my car radio. The car was not drivable when I picked up my car. They told me the battery is bad. They told me the alternator is bad also after they changed the battery. The battery and alternator were at the working condition when I dropped the car to them. Evidently, the alternator was damaged during the repair. They charged me $1256 for the battery and repairing alternator together. I can pay the battery but repairing the alternator should be their responsibility.

*************** brought in her RDX on 07/05/22 to have a radio replaced by her insurance, as the radio was damaged. She also had an additional request, which was to have her battery and battery terminals looked at. We sent an estimate to replace the battery and negative battery cable, which she declined. We had recommended a battery to her in 2021 which she had declined as well. My technician had to jump start her RDX in order to get it in and out of the shop. When she picked the vehicle up, the alternator had finally failed due to being over-worked trying charge a faulty battery. The quote for the battery and alternator was $1,322.61 which she approved. We believe in doing all we can to help our clients, and we had the the final bill reduced to $1,001.46, which resulted in a savings of $321.15. Replacing the radio had nothing to do with the already failing battery and alternator.

I am rejecting this response because:

I sent my car to Sterling Acura to fix the radio and stuck on accessory mode sometimes. It would drain the battery when stuck on accessary mode happened.  They were fully aware of this issue but they did not take care of it when the car was in their hands. They just let the battery die when the car was stuck in the accessory mode. This is the reason they needed to jump the car many times. When I had it, I did not need to jump the car and did not have the alternator problem when I gave the car to them. I gave my car to them on 7/5. They told me to pick up my car on 7/22, but I could not drive my car as my car had different error messages on the display panel which I had never seen before. Because of this, I could not drive my car back home. I explained this to them and asked that they take responsibility for the damage, but we could not reach the agreement. I had no choice but to leave them the car for the further repair as I could not drive my car at all. They reduced the bill to $1001 when I picked up my car on 7/26 as I asked them to waive the labor charge for the alternator repair as it was caused by their negligence. However, they only reduced it by half. The total labor charge for repairing the alternator was $450, but they only waived $225. Repairing the alternator should be their responsibility.

      Regards,
