On 06/01/2024 I attempted to purchase a product from one of the vending machines at the ******************************** in ******, Tx. There was not an indication on or around the soda machine stating if it was out of order or malfunctioning. After 3 failed attempts to purchase my debit card was charged $7.05 for a product I never received. I emailed Canteen ****** and was informed to expect a refund within ***** days after providing them with the required information regarding the transaction. What I received instead was an e-check to which I would be responsible for printing and cashing (incurring check cashing fees) or utilize their deposit services which include service fees of up to $4.99. At this point I am now questioning if it is even worth it. The refund should have be reversed back to the card that was charged however, in an effort to discourage customers from continuing the refund process they issue this e-check with these ridiculous fees. They in essence keep your funds as well as their product. It raises a bigger question as to how many other customers have they done this to in the past. Exactly how much profit have they gained without providing product at their vending machines?
