i bought $500 worth of lumber today at Morton it was advertised as fir the receipt says fir. the lumber was delivered and half of it is fir but half of it is pine. i called the business and was basically told pine and fir are the same thing this is not true the company is misrepresenting their product and charging higher prices and delivering lower grade alternate material this is bad business practice and likely illegal
i want what i paid for i paid for fir and i want fir not pine

We only carry 2x4 and 2x6 in doug fir or hem fir.  Mr. ****** got 2x6's in different lengths.  Our suppliers use different mills to purchase lumber, so they may look different, but the 2x4's and 2x6's are all a fir product.  We only carry yellow pine in 2x8, 2x10, 2x12.  My manager Evan offered to take the product back and return his money, and Mr. ****** said no.  I'm not sure what else we can do.  He is mistaken about the lumber.  Thank you, Marilyn ******

This is a picture of a 2x6 fir (left) and a 2x8 yellow pine (right).  I cannot see any difference in the picture Mr. ****** sent. Different mills, different trees.
      Thank you,
      Marilyn ******

I am rejecting this response because:  the lumber provided is not stamped fir and it is clearly pine not fir

real fir is stamped as fir  this was stamped wp  white pine

the business is either lying or extremely stupid  and Evan is very rude to the customer  he needs to be educated on proper business conduct  i do not accept the business explanation

they at least need to refund me the difference in cost between the fir i paid for and the pine lumber they supplied

and evan telling me to go shop at **** ***** because their wood is worse has nothing to do with this issue with Morton

rest assured  when we build my 1200 sf two story addition this spring i will not source any material from Morton

Hello I am the GM of Morton Lumber and the buyer for lumber and building materials. The material he is referring to , I have never carried a white pine in 2x material. All I keep in 2x6 or 2x4 material which was sent to him is a Hem Fir or White Fir , sometimes we get a SPF which is Spuce-Pine-Fir mix . The only white pine I keep is 1x boards.

He is severely misunderstood on what has been sent to him . Everything sent to him to him is a Fir species. The photos that have been sent do not show a picture of the stamp. I am providing pics of what we keep. He needs to send a pic of the stamp on the boards that were delivered to him. Thank You!

I am rejecting this response because: the wood that was delivered to me is not fir

i don't care about some stamp he dug out of his yard,  the fact is the material they delivered is not fir  plain and simple

if they want to continue to be reputable  they should refund me the cost difference between pine and fir

they are welcome to come to my residence to inspect the wood that was delivered.
