    Business Response

    Date: 08/29/2024

    Hello,
As background, Callidus is a legal *********** We provide a tech platform to answer legal questions, draft contracts, review counterparts contracts, and similar. While we market the product to attorneys, anyone can use the platform.

Individuals can access our platform directly via the web application. Users can sign up for the platform and see the workflows and services that we support. If interested, they can subscribe for $149/m. As long as users don't exceed 5 days or 500 message credits, they can cancel their subscription free of charge. That way, they can ensure the tool is useful for them.

Callidus uses sophisticated state-of-the-art AI that is processing intensive and expensive. As a result, we unfortunately need to stand by the terms that we advertise. We do not issue refunds for legitimate sales. This allows us to keep our prices as low as possible for legitimate customers.

In this case, ************** emailed us asking for a refund. She claimed she never used the tool and never registered her credit card with us.

We know for certain this is false. Oftentimes, we will find ways to work with honest customers, but not with dishonest customers.

************** alleges that she never signed up for an account but that her card was charged by us. This would mean one of the following 3 things:

1.Someone stole her credit card and signed up for our service.

    2. The Callidus team stole her credit card and used it to pay for services.

    3. She is lying.

The Callidus team is full of seasoned engineers and lawyers. We are all honest, hardworking, high-integrity people who are contributing to both the local and national economy. So #2 is out.

#1, also, makes no sense. As shown in the attached, the email address used for the account is the same email address requesting a refund. It uses the same full name. It would make no sense for a credit card thief to use an email address that does not belong to them. Moreover, after ************** pretended she did not know what Callidus is and similar, she showed us a screenshot of her logged in to her own account, which completely invalidated her entire claim. And, finally, she lied to us about not using the product. We see clear usage of the product in our usage logs, which are also attached.

We generally don't like to use terms like "lying" lightly. If there were room for us to have made an error, we would be much more cautious. But, this is clearly an example where someone used our service (that has cost us millions to develop and which costs us each time a user uses the tool), finished getting the answer she wanted, saved hundreds in attorney's fees, and then decided to cancel (well after the free cancellation period), and then rudely demanded a refund after lying to us about the circumstances.

Callidus is a business of integrity. Our Terms of Use make clear our policies and we have mutually agreed on them prior to service.
