on 4/1/25 . and two weeks later james at AAMCO call me and said that the van was fixed on 4/11/25 i picked up my van and noticed that my left rear bumper was damaged i addressed this to james .and i  told him that i have pictures of the vehicle when i dropped it off and he just didn't want to hear it that he was not responsible for that. i drove it home and then i looked under the vehicle and i saw that it was still leaking from the same spot so the next day i called AAMCO corporate headquarters and i explained my situation. and  corporate told me that they were going to talk to David about this Issue so if in three business days i don't hear from  David to call corporate again so his assistant called me three days later saying that David was gonna call me 5 day later i got a call from David and he told me that he was not gonna mess with the rear seal  anymore that he was buy a now body case for that unit that he was gonna start from scratch also told me that if it was still leaking that isn't the problem that raise a red flag for me when he telling me that before he has even started working on it so he asked me to take it again to Dallas so i drove it to dallas and i dropped it off on 4/26/25 then he called me on 5/13/25 saying that he had fixed it so again before i even picked it up he told me  the same thing over and over that if it was still leaking that isn't the problem so that worried me about what he constantly was telling me the following day i drove it back to Austin. still leaking from the same spot . so i know, that he never did anything to it and left it sit there for almost 3 weeks. and then call me saying that it was ready.so whenever i get a chance, i'm gonna take it to another shop to verify if he did buy that case housing for that transmissions on it again i suggested to take it, to someone i know his name is ***** as well because i am positive that your problem is the drive shaft so i took it to the place he referred me to take it and ***** at drive shaft king looked at it and said that the drive shaft was fine, so i told him to call ***** at AAMCO to tell him that the drive shaft was fine and ***** did not like what he had to say to him. he disagreed. i left the vehicle there at AAMCO in Dallas to get fixed again then two weeks later ***** **** and said it was fixed i picked up the van at AAMCO in Dallas then i drove it to ******,Tx. the next day i noticed that it was still leaking from the rear seal so i call *****. and i decided to take closer to home at AAMCO in **********, **. so i left it there because AAMCO in Dallas had already tried to fixed it three times so two weeks later ***** **** me and he refused to have AAMCO in **********, tx fix it so he told me to take it to his friends shop at AAMCO in ******, ** at 912 S *****

    BBB Members,

The situation with Mr. Paredes' vehicle was quite unique. Sometimes a vehicle comes in that unfortunately is harder than most to figure out. I applaud our AAMCO teams across Texas to be able to figure out the root cause and ultimately repair everything under warranty. We apologize about the time, however we will never back away from any warranty situation.

I am rejecting this response because:

I appreciate the response from AAMCO and the acknowledgment
of the delays involved in servicing my vehicle. However, I reject their
response because it does not address or take accountability for the core issues
    I experienced, including:
    1.Multiple
failed repair attempts – AAMCO Dallas had the opportunity to repair the
transmission three separate times, and the issue—leaking from the rear
    seal—persisted after each attempt.
    2.Poor
coordination and prolonged delays – My vehicle was transported between
multiple AAMCO locations (Dallas, Texarkana, San Marcos, and Austin), with
weeks of waiting at each location and no lasting resolution.
    3.Refusal
    of  recommendations and proper
diagnosis – When I brought the vehicle to AAMCO San Marcos, their team
determined that the issue was not the seal, but rather overheating, which
was causing the continued transmission problems. They communicated this
diagnosis directly to AAMCO Dallas. However, AAMCO Dallas ignored their
recommendation and instead referred me to a different AAMCO location in
Austin, TX where they only replaced the  seal once again. The very next day, the
vehicle continued leaking. Only after that did AAMCO Dallas advise me to
bring the vehicle back once more so they could finally attempt to swap out
    the entire transmission housing/case.
    4.Third-party
confirmation of poor workmanship – An independent mechanic (Julio’s Auto
Repair in Del Valle, TX) confirmed that the transmission case was never
replaced and had not been properly repaired, contradicting the claims made
    by AAMCO.
    5.Lack
of real resolution – Despite months of inconvenience, towing expenses, and
extended downtime, the transmission issues were never resolved by AAMCO. I
was ultimately forced to seek assistance outside of their network. This
ongoing situation not only cost me additional out-of-pocket expenses, but
also caused me to lose valuable work opportunities since my vehicle is
essential for my business. The repeated failures and downtime hurt me
financially and disrupted my ability to earn income.

AAMCO has not offered a refund nor taken financial
responsibility for the ongoing issue. The response provided by David C. fails
to acknowledge the repeated failed repair attempts, the hardship caused, and
the ineffectiveness of their warranty service.
Therefore, I respectfully reject their response and request
that AAMCO issue a full refund or cover the cost of repair at a qualified
    independent shop

    To whom it may concern,
As previously stated in our first response, sometimes certain vehicle are a little more challenging to repair, this is why warranty exists. Through the AAMCO nationwide warranty program, and efforts of the other centers involved, we were able to determine that the issue affecting his repair was a leaking case. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and time spent, however it was necessary in this instance as the problem would not manifest itself for a day or two.
Frustrated, Mister Paredes called our corporate office to voice his concern after he discovered his vehicle was still leaking. We explained to corporate that the only way to repair the issue 100% was to replace the transmission as a whole and build another transmission for the vehicle, including the case, and install it (at our expense of course). They agreed with our decision and we called the customer to make sure this would suffice.
After speaking with Mr. Paredes, he AGREED that this would be acceptable. So he brought it in as discussed, dropped it off with us, and we built an entirely fresh unit for the vehicle (including the case)! We drove it and leak checked it and everything was fine. We even drove it again a second day and leak checked a second time before calling Mr. Paredes to pick up the vehicle. His claim that we did not replace the case is inherently false. He has no leaks and his transmission functions correctly, so we are confused why he would believe otherwise. I've included photos of his case which is still located here at the shop, awaiting core pickup. He took many photos of his transmission leaking from the back, so he should be able to compare cases and see that this is in fact, his original case in our possession. We lived up to our end of the agreement, which was to build him a fresh transmission, and restart his warranty. No refund will be issued.

I remember this customer very well.

They originally came to ** from another auto repair shop stating that the previous business didn't resolve their issue & just took their money (so they froze their credit to stop the charges).

They're just trying to get free repairs.

They even tried to file a dispute with the finance company stating that services were not delivered (like at the previous repair shop they took their car too).
Unfortunately for them, we had proof of work being completed & the finance company sided with us & didn't cancel the charge.

This guy expects a ****** Maxima (nissans are not good cars IMO BTW) that has multiple issues when he brought it to us to be fixed with a few $100; completely unreasonable.

We have receipts for the parts we bought & proof of completed work.

We told him he needed to get the misfire corrected before we could determine if it was a transmission issue or not.

He's the only major complaint we've had in the last 2 years; nothing to worry about.
