I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee from MK Autos, sold to me "As Is." At the time of purchase, I wasn't informed about any existing issues with the vehicle, and updates hadn't appeared on the Carfax report, which usually takes 4-6 months to update. Within four months, I noticed problems with the vehicle and attempted to contact the dealership. However, they evaded my inquiries until they eventually stopped responding. I even visited their location to show them the Carfax report, explaining that the car is now undrivable. I've spent over $2,000 on repairs, but it still doesn't function properly. I feel genuinely scammed by this company, as they are unwilling to help resolve the issue. Multiple complaints have been filed against them.

    Dear ****** *******,

We appreciate your feedback and take customer concerns seriously. However, we would like to clarify the sequence of events regarding your purchase of the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Financing Issues: You initially missed a payment on your financing agreement, which led to the finance company forfeiting your contract. Despite this, we went above and beyond to secure alternative financing for youa significant undertaking given the circumstances.

Vehicle Condition at Purchase: While your vehicle was in our possession for a full week during the financing transition, no concerns were raised or reported. Additionally, every vehicle at MK Autos undergoes a rigorous reconditioning process, including a full mechanical inspection, necessary repairs, detailing, and a state inspection before being deemed ready for sale. At the time of your purchase, no mechanical issues were identified.

Alleged Attempts to Contact Us: You stated that you attempted to contact us four months after noticing issues with the vehicle. However, we have no records of any such communication. Furthermore, you have direct access to our managers contact number, yet the only time you reached out was regarding your financing issueand that was just yesterday.

Post-Purchase Maintenance & Issues: You mentioned that the vehicle developed problems after an oil change, including oil in the spark plugs. Commonly, such symptoms arise from overfilling oil, which can cause serious engine issues. We strongly encourage you to consult your mechanic regarding the service history and any work done post-purchase.

Timeframe of Complaint: Your complaint comes approximately seven months after your purchase. Based on our extensive experience in the automotive industry, a vehicle with significant pre-existing issues would not have remained operational for this duration.

We urge you to review the timeline of events and assess any maintenance or repairs conducted after the sale. Additionally, we take false allegations and defamation seriously, as they can impact our business reputation.

If you would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to contact us directly.

    Sincerely,
    MK Autos

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and we understand your frustration. However, we want to clarify the situation regarding the 2016 Mercedes GLC 300 you purchased from us.

After you notified us of the issue on June 2, 2024, we immediately called back and suggested for a mechanic to inspect the vehicle on June 4, 2024. The inspection revealed that the oil leak was caused by seals for the oil filter that were not correctly installed. This is a critical point, as if it were to leak, it would cause a low oil pressure light, low oil light, and warning to stop the vehicle; to name a few. Nonetheless, no preventive measures were taken and the motor was locked up. Further more, the seal of the oil filter could have been tampered with after leaving the Mk Autos location.

We understand that unexpected car troubles are stressful, but its important to note that MK Autos provided the vehicle in good working condition. No warning lights, no faults, no issues. Additionally, the vehicle was sold as is, as per Texas law, meaning it was purchased with the understanding of its current condition without any implied warranties.

While we cannot offer a refund or replacement as the issue could have been prevented, or tampered with outside Mk Autos control. We did make several attempts to assist you in resolving this matter in good faith. However, we must respectfully reiterate that ******* is not liable for the mechanical failure that occurred after the sale.

We remain open to discussing any further questions or concerns you may have. Please feel free to reach out if you need any additional assistance.
