To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to formally file a complaint against CorrHealth regarding their substandard accounting practices, leadership failures, and unprofessional conduct that have significantly impacted our operations.Over a three-year period, CorrHealth experienced a significant loss of $2.5 million, which they failed to identify in a timely manner, raising concerns about their financial oversight. This issue was brought to our attention in 2023, after which we expected corrective actions. However, when they finally recognized this oversight, they issued us a 60-day termination notice in the middle of our budget year, demanding we secure additional funds to continue their services. This demand was extremely challenging, especially given the difficulties associated with obtaining additional funding during an active budget cycle in government. Moreover, their confrontational approach to addressing arising issues was frustrating. Rather than taking accountability, they consistently deflected blame. On their final day of service, the CEO himself walked out with supplies and equipment worth $4,500 that we had purchased. This spiteful and unprofessional action left us in a precarious position, as these items were essential for our operations, and they refused to provide a refund despite being aware of the impact of their actions.Due to these numerous issues, we were compelled to seek out a new provider, and thankfully, we found a company that offers much better service. My experience with CorrHealth has been extremely disappointing, and their motto of "Do Right" appears to be little more than a marketing strategy rather than a core value.I urge the BBB to take action regarding these issues, and I hope to prevent other businesses from experiencing the same difficulties. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.Business Response

I am submitting my response, along with validation of consumer complaint (#********) filed against my organization (CorrHealth) on November 8th, 2024 by Mr.Chance ******* being wholly frivolous and without merit. I wholeheartedly and firmly believe this complaint and claim was prompted by my November 7th social media (********) post (see below)celebrating our recognition as being named a finalist for the BBBs prestigious Torch Award for Ethics, and snapshots of my post is included, along with teh timelines for your reference. My organization, (CorrHealth) has been a proud member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for over seven (7) years (2018), were proud to have earned our A+ rating early into our memberships tenure, and as our records notate, this complaint is the very first weve received since weve been a member of the BBB. As validated in my post (below), I, along with my team were deeply honored by this achievement, which highlights our ongoing commitment to transparency, integrity, and ethical standards. However, Mr. ******** complaint seems to have arisen under rather unusual and questionable circumstances, I firmly believe this complaint is based on Mr. ******* trolling my personal and my companys social media pages, and he quickly reacted to our sharing exciting news by filing a formal complaint against us with the BBB. In my opinion, this complaint is the result of a person whos behaving in a manic, strange, a highly unprofessional manner and outrageously abusing his power and authority as a public official.
Mr. ******* with this complaint is based on his and his teams lack of experience, and his/their refusal to simply ask questions about the transition process in order to better, and fully understand the process. If they didnt trust us, as his complaint suggests, why wasnt he, or one of his officers there at the transition to look at what we were taking and take an inventory of each item and ensure the transition was successful?
In his BBB complaint, Mr. ******* claimed my organization praciced, substandard accounting practices, and, or leadership failures
Fact, it is true that CorrHealth lost over $2.7Million in 2023 as we were forced to utilize high-cost agency staffing services to help fill shifts and serve ************** and their inmate patients with a high standard of care and utmost professionalism, in an attempt to decrease our use of high-cost agency staffing services, we significantly increased our existing teams compensation rates in an attempt to (hopefully) help us be competitive, and ultimately, neither effort was successful and we only lost more in the process. Our losses had nothing to do with substandard accounting practices, and, or leadership failures as Mr. ******* foolishly claims. In fact, one of my regrets and the only leadership failure on my part was not providing our 60-day notice and leaving ************** much sooner than we did.
In his BBB complaint, Mr. ******* stated, my conduct was unprofessional, confrontational and spiteful.
My response includes an email below dated January 28th, 2024 which was sent to *** *********CorrHealths Director of HR and Recruitment, along with Mr. ******* statements,
Also, thank you Chance for sharing your insight and for your time and attention this past week. I appreciate you and your investment. Let's continue to work together to fix this thing and build a much stronger partnership going forward... you have MINE, and OUR commitment.
In my opinion,my statements were highly supportive, collaborative and based in an attempt to seek a stronger partnership, and I believe my comments were far from unprofessional, confrontational and spiteful as Mr. ******* boldly claims.
In his BBB complaint, Mr. ******* stated, On their final day of service, the CEO himself walked out with supplies and equipment worth $4,500 which we had purchased.
My response includes a screenshot of a March 8th email between ******* ******** Regional Manager with CorrHealth, and the incoming providers employee ****** *********** which substantiates and proves our communication with the incoming provider was complete, highly professional and the incoming provider had knowledge and a complete understanding of the various items which we purchased and planned to remove from the facility the evening of the March 27th transition.
In his BBB complaint, Mr. ******* stated, Due to these numerous issues, we were compelled to seek out a new provider
This statement and claim are completely and unequivocally false in their entirety.
I, along with my team worked tirelessly to fill positions during the severe labor crisis, and zero assistance was offered by the county to help us provide healthcare services for their inmate population,
Given the fact that we were in a serious financial deficit, given the fact that the compensation rates which the county was funding was and not bear competitive in the market at the time, I met with Mr. ******* and encouraged them to release a competitive request for proposal (RFP), and knowing Mr. ******* and his the new administration had zero experience in this industry and knowing the complexity of this process I offered to assist Mr. ******* and his team with that effort.
It is also true that we submitted a 60-day termination notice to the county and encouraged them to release a competitive request for proposal (RFP) process.
Understanding the countys annual budget was established and knowing the labor market had changed considerably, I recommended the county release a competitive RFP and I even offered my assistance with that tedious process, to which they accepted my offer, consequently, I shared four (4) RFPs from other agencies which served as strong samples to help Mr. ******* draft his own document, Mr. ******* agreed to issue a competitive bid process, and they elected to contract with the lowest priced provider. Consequently, Mr. ******** claims that my conduct was unprofessional, confrontational and spiteful are incredibly odd, and couldnt be further from the truth.
The December 8th email which I included in my response was sent directly to Sheriff *****, Undersheriff ******* and Captain ******* unequivocally dispels Mr. ******** numerous baseless claims.
In his BBB complaint, Mr. ******* stated, we provided a 60-day notice.
Yes, in fact,we did provide ************** with a 60-day termination notice, this notice was based on our agreement with *************** and we acted based on the exact terms and requirements as stipulated in our agreement with the county. In closing, I met with a friend (of mine), who is also an elected County Commissioner in ************** about Mr. ******** frivolous complaints and claims, Mr. ******* informed him he would be petitioning and filing for a felony warrant for my arrest claiming that I stole $4,700 from the county, which is the very agency which I spent $2.7Million trying to support over a one year period. He **** *******)went on to inform my Commissioner friend that he will continue to harass (me)as much as possible, he went on to say he would have me served and arrested at a strategic time which would certainly embarrass, ridicule and ruin me professionally and personally. As a consequence to his shameful threat, to protect my good reputation and my hard career and through my counsels legal advice, on January 16th, 2025, I wrote a check for $4,700 and sent it overnight and directed it to Mr. ******** I sent the parcel with a signature required which confirmed Mr. ******* did in fact receive the check on January 17th, and I included a snapshot of the letter, the check and the confirmation receipt for your records.
Once again, I take customer concerns very seriously and strive to address all matters of dissatisfaction professionally and transparently.
I respectfully request the BBB review the context of this complaint in light of our long-standing history of ethical business practices, including our recognition by the BBB. I am confident that once the details are fully reviewed by your team, you will immediately see that no wrongdoing occurred on mine or my teams part.
I respectfully request the BBB to consider the context surrounding the timing of the filing and our long history of ethical practices and support of our team members, our partners and the communities which we proudly serve, and with my paying the $4,700, I ask the BBB to facilitate a full and expeditious resolution to this complaint and permanently drop Mr. ******** baseless and frivolous complaint from our record/account and against my organization.
I wholeheartedly believe in transparency, and I am more than glad to share the former legal agreement between CorrHealth and *************** **, any additional documentation or clarification that may be necessary, to include any emails, invoices and payments made by either CorrHealth, and or ***************the agency which Mr. ******* is currently employed. I am also more than willing to provide any of the data, including any emails and text messages between myself, my team, Mr. ******** any members of his team and, or Laramie County.
My goal is to maintain a positive relationship with the BBB, uphold the ethical standards we have been recognized for, and ensure that any misunderstanding is promptly addressed.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter. I very much look forward to your guidance and support in resolving this issue as quickly as possible. Know that I am absolutely committed to working closely with the BBB to provide you and your team with any supportive documentation which may be helpful to permanently resolve this matter.
Furthermore, the person listed below is well-respected in his community, among his teams, he serves as County Commissioner in ************** and he also supervised ********** at one point in his **** ********) career. He knows myself, and the values which I and my organization follow and he also knows Mr. ******* very well, and he will attest to the integrity, character (or lack of) of both, and he knows how both CorrHealth and Mr. ******* conducts business, and I highly encourage the BBB to contact Commissioner *** ************ at your convenience and discuss those involved, and the nature of this issue.
Former Captain of Laramie Countys Detention Centers, and Laramie County Commissioner, *** ************
