      Date of occurrence 3/12/2024. I have been in correspondence with The Metro Anesthesia ************** for several months. They were advised that I can not answer calls as a teacher Mon -Fri 6 am until 5:00. I drive a bus and legally can't answer my phone. They call during class hours & will not answer or return phone calls when I can call them. I have informed them several times about calls to ********** Blue Shield and Dr. ***** ************** that they have the incorrect code to bill the insurance company. I have informed many people at the billing office who only want to "bill me" $1560.00. I spoke to the doctors billing office who confirmed the bill was sent with the wrong code. They asked me to have the anesthesia office call them to get the correct code for payment. The billing office refused to call or get the correct information. They keep referring to the initial paperwork and codes. I spoke to a billing representative last week who told me "NO, we have reviewed the file and you have to pay $1560.00." This is an amount equal to my mortgage. The representative hung up on me. I have been reviewing the file and doing the work for the billing office and business. Even after presenting with the correct information, they refuse to call and handle the claim. On 3/12/24, I spoke to a representative from ********** to see what I could do. He found the correct code and and told me he would fix the payment. He asked me to call the office and have them hold the bill. He was sending payment. I called and left a message with Metro Anesthesia to call back. They did not. On 3/13/24, I called and spoke to someone who said they sent the bill to collections on 3/12 and transferred me to the "main billing office." I was on hold for several hours and asked to leave several messages. I have yet to reach someone to tell them the payment is on the way per the insurance company. There may be a violation of SB 1028 also with this matter.
