I have a hotmail(20yrsold) and Gmail. I had to factory reset my phone and when the esim was put back i must not have had the correct password for hotmail. I don't know how I forgot but google worked fine. Somehow with this occurrence I was logged out of my laptop, Amazon fire, old phones and this phone. All devices and not just locked out but blocked. Microsoft openly states that they have no way to bypass a lost password and get access if we can't log in. Their page says to keep trying. Well, I did and quickly I had used up email verification and it says text verification is not working. Other options it asks for is Microsoft authenticator that ive never set up or backup codes that I don't have and never knew I needed. I did account recover but when it STILL asks for more verification that they won't send. It's been a week and ive started to move things over but what im losing ia priceless...as well as a free hotel stay and my trip to ****. I was logged out of every app on every device and could log into most except Microsoft/one drive/hotmail. Why be part of the email monopoly of can't handle the heat. Verizon was able to verify and bypass my compromised situation but the HEAD of Microsoft can't help access lost email. This is not protecting users. This is hurting. This is ensuring that if my email is compromised then the bad guys just GET TO HAVE my email. Microsoft has it backwards
