I purchased a custom range hood via Kitchen Kandy on ****, but wasnt ready to initiate production at that time. The business has since stopped selling via **** so I am unable to ask for assistance with completing production via that site. The business phone number listed on the website appears not to be in service and the email listed on the company website goes unanswered. Ideally, I would just like my product made and shipped, though with a color change from what I previously specified. If they are no longer in business, then I would like a refund of my purchase on **** and the blower purchased separately and shipped to their location for production.Initial Complaint

In August 2022, I paid my designer, Eleven11 Designs for a custom hood. Eleven11 paid Kitchen Kandy 60% down $4,643.92 AND delivered my hood insert that I had paid another vendor for $1,325 to Kitchen Kandy to build inside the new custom ventahood. It was learned a few months ago that Kitchen Kandy actually put my hood insert into another cusomter's hood and delivered it, so my hood insert is no longer there. After 1.5 YEARS and I'm out $6,000, they have still not delivered the hood or returned my insert and returned my money. There are scores of bad reviews with the same story going back a couple of years.Initial Complaint

We contracted with Kitchen Kandy for creation of a vent hood in Sep of 2022. We were told lead time was 20+ weeks. We paid half the amount of the project which they required to get started. It has now been 53 weeks and we still have nothing. We asked for a refund and they said no because some money had already been spent on design, but we have nothing to show for any of that money. The vent hood still hasn't even been sent to laser cutting which means there is no material at this point to even create the hood. They are slow to respond and have given us four different dates that we were scheduled to go to laser cutting, only to be delayed and pushed back even further each time. We would like to move to another vendor but they have refused to give us our money back so we are in a bad situation. We would like to terminate our relationship with them and get a refund.Initial Complaint

We, CR Custom Homes, paid our 60% down payment around June of 2022, with the promise that the project would take ***** weeks. It has now been about 58 weeks, and Kitchen Kandy (Metal Boutique LLC.) refuses to refund our down payment and is ignoring our communications. Kitchen Kandy has missed all deadlines they promised, failed to timely communicate all status requests, and still have not delivered the product OR given any timeline for when they will. Any eventual responses from them only had vague excuses for any delay and new target dates, but never followed-through with anything they said. Phone calls were normal until the 60% down payment was paid, then Kitchen Kandy quit using the phone to tell us about the delays, only hiding behind sporadic/untimely email responses when we inquired about the status of the order. At this price point, one would reasonably expect phone calls and timely responses to any communications. Forget the fact that we are now past their promised completion date by 40 weeks, but they still have not refunded the $3,604.73 they took from us. Kitchen Kandy is grossly unprofessional and the worst company to deal with. At this point, they have scammed us out of $3,604.73. STAY FAR AWAY FROM KITCHEN KANDYInitial Complaint

These folks make beautiful hoods and when I first met them I was taken in by the owners, lady E and ******. I ordered and paid a $4300 deposit (60% deposit) to Kitchen Kandy in November 2022 to make a custom kitchen hood. For the first couple of months, things were cordial until about April ********************************************* sight! Things quickly went downhill hill and they stopped answering phone calls or responding to emails. I remained patient and understanding.However, After waiting over 8 months, I stopped by their shop and asked to speak with ****** about the kitchen hood. He walked in there, told me he had no date for my hood being ready. When pressed he said MAYBE October and then walked out on me. At that point I was in absolute shock and upset that he showed zero concern or responsibility for the delay.There was another lady there who was nice and tried to calm things down.****** came back and instead of calming the situation says all I paid for was for a hood and he does not owe me any answers and has no time to explain delays. At that point I am upset and I ask for my refund but he refuses then tells my sister and I to GET OUT OF HIS SHOP. In 60 decades, I HAVE NEVER EVER experienced this kind of behavior from a business owner. So I dont have my hood and I dont have my money.Initial Complaint

Back in March of 2022 (it is now 5-2023) I started communicating with them to have a range hood built. I have sent them right at $8000.00 in March of 2022. It has been one excuse after another and I have no proof that they have even started it or will complete it - if they are a bocos company or not? I cannot move into the house we built in *********, ** until this is in place - so the builder had no choice but to build one. I do not want to pay for two range hoods, especially since I they do not seem to be able to produce it. I was told it would take ***** weeks to build. ************** LLC entered into a contract with ******************* to construct a range hood and to provide a blower motor unit. The contract included a down payment from ******************* in the amount of $6,378.00. The terms of the contract provided for delivery of the materials within 18 to 20 weeks. More than 39 weeks have passed and nothing has been delivered and there has been no communictions fom the **************. ******************* has requested cancellation of the order and the return of the monies paid. KitchenKandy quoted my wife ***** weeks for a customer hood. They required a downpayment of $3,894 for a $6,000 custom hood. Near the 20 week **** my wife began contacting KitchenKandy about the hood. She was told she would have it in 2 months. at 30 weeks she checked in again, and asked to speak to the owner. The owner was combative, and screamed at my wife and then hung up on her. I contacted as were nearing the 1 year ****(32 weeks after their estimate). I was told 5 weeks ago it would be done on April 21st. I checked on the 21st and today the 28th finally got a response that it would be ***** weeks more. I asked for my money back as no work has been done. I was told no. The customer service is awful and from the messages below the experience with the owener, *********************, is combative, aggressive and threatneing.Business Response

We are a small manufacturer. Our business has been struck very hard by high costs of operating, materials etc in the past year or so. We also are having a painful shortage in the very specific type of artisans we hire to build these pieces. We are doing everything in our power to go as fast as we possibly can. We are just very late. We work on a first in first out basis as it is the most fair way to go about it. We are working through our production list a batch at a time and are doing everything possible to satisfy all of our customers as best we can. We do not typically give refunds on custom commissioned work. We are working on many ways to try to alleviate many of our current issues and satisfy upset clients' in any way that we are able. It is just going to take time to resolve many of these issues. We are painfully short staffed. We are willing, but we can only do what we are able to do.Initial Complaint

On 2/3/22 I paid Kitchen Kandy a 60% deposit of $4125 for a custom range hood for my kitchen. (Invoice #1931)
They required me to ship them the Thermador blower insert, which they have had since August 2022. They do not return phone calls and have no updates on progress of project. I would like my Thermador insert returned and a full refund for goods not delivered.
