- Government Actions:Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:Assurance of Discontinuance between the State of Minnesota, through its Attorney General, Keith Ellison and Tradebloc, Inc.
On January 23, 2025, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced he has resolved investigations and entered settlements with three different companies, including Tradebloc, Inc.—which purported to offer “timeshare exit” services that charge thousands of dollars based on promises to relieve Minnesotans from timeshare debts. In doing so, the company violated Minnesota’s “debt settlement services” law by, charging large upfront fees and failing to obtain proper licensing. The Attorney General also investigated potential misrepresentations about the company’s services and statements about expected results.
Under terms of the Assurance, Tradebloc shall pay to the Attorney General the sum of $59,453.16 as monetary payment and $50,000 stayed civil penalty.
The Assurance was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.
