    My experience with Aftermath;

    1. I got a quote from them for $25,000 before purchasing the house.
    2. After purchasing the house, the quote was increased to $39,000. I accepted their story for the change, but negotiated it to $33K and signed the contract. I should have known better.
    3. The contract called for a permit. They did not get one.
    4. I was holding final payment until they provided the permit. By email, they told me they were working on it. On the date they sent that email, they had filed a lien and lawsuit, and never provided a permit.
    5. The were supposed to provide final elevation readings. They did not.
    6. They raised one part of the house too high, and now there is a hump inside that can’t be corrected without great expense.
    7. Their work failed. The piers had to be reopened, and the interior floors had to be dug up again.
    8. When I asked about warranty when their work started to fail, they said it would be 10 weeks before they could look at it. I couldn't wait that long.
    9. I had to pay another company to repair the work that Aftermath did.

    Choose wisely.

    Marc,

I’m sorry we didn’t live up to your expectations. We are working to make sure none of this happens again. Below are some items we wanted to clear up:

    Pricing:
Our prices did change from the job we did for you in 2021 to the house you had problems with in 2022. We did not change our pricing for the second house but we had narrowed the scope of work because of your budget.

    Permit:
It was our understanding that you didn’t want a permit pulled from our conversation with you before we started the job. After the job was finished was the first time, we had heard you wanted a permit. On September 28, 2022, you email us about the status of the permit and on October 4, 2022 we wrote you back saying the permit was opened, paid for, inspected, and closed along with an email attachment with the closed permit.

    Lien:
We did put a lien on your property. We had scheduled a meeting with you guys at the house to go over your expectations and we were stood up. At that point it was in our best interest to file a lien.

    Elevations:
We sent you the elevations on August 10, 2022. They were taken on August 8, 2022 when we took care of other items you wanted done before you released payment.

    Warranty:
You emailed us on December 16, 2022 needing warranty work done. We emailed you back on the same date saying we could come out on January 12, 2023 but didn’t hear back from you. You sent an email back on January 9, 2023 asking if we can still come out on the 12th. At that point we were booked up until March 30, 2023.

    Job Issues:
Unfortunately, we quoted you without seeing the job since it was wrapped up in a real estate deal. There was a budget you had and we had told you that it was going to take more money to get the result you were expecting. We did add extra polyurethane and piers on our end that we didn’t change you for.
