I am rejecting this response because:

I must respectfully reject the response submitted by *** regarding complaint #********., as it does not accurately reflect my experience with their Community Health Worker (CHW) program.

Contrary to their assertion, *** stated that there is no indication that I was accepted into the *** program: I was actively enrolled in the *** course offered through the *** ********************* and participated fully in the program. I successfully completed the course in March 2025, see attached the certificate I was provided for completing the course.

I am not satisfied with **** efforts to resolve this issue. Their response lacks accountability and fails to acknowledge the real commitment and time invested by students like myself who completed the course in good faith, expecting the agreed-upon stipend. Rather than taking responsibility, they have minimized participants' roles and contributions, which is both disappointing and unprofessional. The early termination of grant ******* does not absolve the university of its obligation to students who fulfilled their part of the agreement.
It is disappointing that *** now seeks to distance itself from these commitments, especially as the program was publicly funded and promoted with explicit incentives. I urge the BBB to continue reviewing this matter seriously and to consider the broader implications for students who invested their time and trust in this institution.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *******

We would like to request an extension, please.  The **** is collecting more information on this so we can respond.  She is waiting on a request.  Thank you.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/08/2025

The *** Community Health Worker program was funded by a ***** from the federal government.   The professor recruited for interested students using an informational website, digital flyers and zoom recruiting meetings.   Some of those promotional materials included mention of a $4,000 stipend for admitted students after completion of certain prerequisites.  When potential participants indicated they were interested in the program, they received a communication that they were being put on a prospective student list. Some were also informed about a course taught by the *** ********************* and offered at no cost.

The only communication sent to the student who has raised a complaint appears to have been a letter informing her that she had been placed on the prospective student list.  There is no indication that she was accepted into the *** program. Unfortunately, the funding for the *** program has ended early, and it is no longer being offered. *** regrets any inconvenience or disappointment this may have caused to those on the prospective student list or others interested in community health work.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/23/2025

As noted in **** previous response regarding Ms. ******** complaint, the only communication sent to her from *** appears to have been a communication that she was being put on a prospective student list.   We also noted that information may have been provided about the *** training course taught by the *** ********************* and offered at no cost (that course did not offer a stipend).  In Ms. ******** follow-up to ***s response, she has not provided any information to change ***s position.  The certificate that she has provided clearly states that it is for completion of the ****** Community Health Worker program.  She has not provided anything to suggest that she completed the *** program.    Again, the funding for the *** program has ended early and it is no longer being offered. *** regrets any inconvenience or disappointment this may have caused to those on the prospective student list or others interested in community health work.

*** will not be responding to further complaints from Ms. ******* about this matter.
