I am a recent widow who lost her husband of 54 years to Covid in November 2020. Then the "snowmageddon" freeze hit Texas in January 2021. The pond which my husband had built and enjoyed for many years was damaged when the motor froze and the liner cracked so that it would not hold water. I was referred to a local contractor by a member of my husband's board of directors to repair the damage done to my property. He seemed to be professional and responsible and worked out a "verbal" estimate with my insurance company to repair the pond for $6200. He did not begin the project until spring 2021. He and his 2 helpers worked for about 2 days and at first the project "seemed" to be finished, so I paid him the $6200 the insurance company had issued to me. But his repair failed less than 2 days after he finished the project. From that point on for over a year, he has been remote and unresponsive.. I have tried connecting with him on multiple occasions, only to be told that there were supply chain issues or other difficulties that prohibited him from addressing the problem. I continue to have an eyesore on my property that demnishes its value each day. I have finally given up on this contractor and have found another contractor to address the problem.
