Just horrible customer service. I was on hold for an analysis error for 1 hour 10 minutes then a customer service representative came on the line for 10 seconds, put me on hold and never came back. This is the 2nd straight year for this same issue. I have left a message for a call back and we'll see if I ever get a response.

Recently found out that Colonial Savings failed to release the lien on my property title on a loan that was paid off in 2022. Im now unable to borrow against my home for some urgent expenses that have come up because a title search shows this lien along with the refinance loan that paid it off for a total of over $100,000 than my house is worth. Have spoken to customer service multiple times and all they tell me is that a ticket has been sent to the department and that it can take up to 30 days for them to respond. They did say that they saw where the documents were sent in 2022 but that there was no follow up when there was no confirmation the loan release was completed. There is no acknowledgment of this being Colonials mistake and no concern for the bind it puts me in - no urgency to address it. In December, I almost lost homeowners insurance because Colonial sent a check to my prior insurer instead of the one I had switched too despite the bill they paid being from the new insurer and my having contacted them to update it. The old insurance company had even returned the incorrectly sent check to them. They even had received a pending cancellation letter and took no action on this. It wasnt until I had made multiple calls and finally had to have a conference call with Colonial and the insurance company did they agree to overnight the payment - this was just 3 days before the policy was being canceled. They used to be great but in the last year it has been a nightmare working with Colonial Savings. They are at this point jeopardizing my well being.

Horrible incompetence at this company. Not only did they not process an ontime payment I made with them over the phone, and admitted it was their computer error.....they went ahead and reported me to the credit bureau for having a late payment, and it was 100% their fault, even after admitting it. To follow up, they went ahead and raised my monthly payment , sent me a notice on the 22nd of that same month, and then reported me again for being late with that payment increase of ***** -- And I did not even get a notice that my payment was going to increase until the following month. How can you pay the right amount in November, if you do not even get a letter from them about the increase until December. They are a mess over there....and I do not trust them for anything...I would LOVE to get my loan transferred out of their hands as they are a disaster.

The worst experience I've had with a mortgage company. Colonial ended up with our mortgage, we did not finance with them.In February I noticed we could set up bi-weekly payments with them. I set it up electronically and had to start them almost 1 and a half months out (March 20th). Figured that was ok since I already had bi-monthly payments set up. Middle of February I got a call saying my payment was late. Come to find out that when I set up the bi-weekly payments they ended my bi-monthly payments immediately. Didn't make much sense with the bi-weekly not starting till middle of the next month but the rep was nice enough to waive the late fees and supposedly with a half payment in and another full payment it'd cover till the bi-weekly payments started.Start of March get a call from a very rude rep that just kept saying "Do you understand your payment is going to be late unless you make a full payment by March 20th". What I wanted to know was why the first rep said it'd all be paid up with the 1 1/2 payments I made in February. Finally got to just tell me did the first rep make a mistake or just lied. Was told she couldn't answer that question. I asked for a supervisor to call & was told one would call next week (it was a Friday). No call ever came.Paid the full payment again around March 15th called customer service to make sure everything would be good. The response was "I can't answer that, I'll have someone that can call you." No surprise here NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK EVER FROM THIS BANK.The amount of money I've spent on my mortgage to supposedly keep in good standing in the last 2 months is ridiculous. Some of the payments went to principal only which I never asked for!

Colonial Savings Mortgage ******************* is highly incompetent and inefficient. They sent me a report about my escrow balance being deficient. Colonial stated that I could send them a check to make of the deficiency to keep my payment at the same level. I sent them a check to make up the deficiency but they still keep raising my payment. I get a different answer each time I contact Colonial to address my monthly payment calculation. So that tells you how unorganized and inefficient they are. As a customer of *********************************************, I am highly unsatisfied. I do not recommend Colonial Savings.

If I could give them a NEGATIVE 1-star that would be more appropriate! Over a year ago our mortgage due increased by $300 and when I called to ask why I was informed our property taxes would increase; therefore our mortgage was being increased to reflect the higher taxes. I paid a property tax attorney $300 to fight for maintaining our property taxes staying at the same level; and they sucked up the money saying nothing as they always do. Nevertheless, Colonial kept sucking an extra $300 from me each month. Now my escrow account has a nice surplus which I need to pay income taxes. I have called 2x now asking how I can tap into MY OWN MONEY! The very nice rep always tells me that they are in the process of balancing out everything and that the checks will be distributed soon. First it was the beginning of March; now its the middle of March.I dont like it to feel like I am overfunding my mortgage lender so that they can make interest on MY MONEY. I would love to switch lenders; as they purchased our loan from our original lender: Prime Lending with ******.

It is now March 28th 2023 as I write this. We have STILL not received a check for the overage funds from COLONIAL Bank. I called them again this morning and spoke to a nice rep named "****." She initially informed me the money did not go out; then after I stated I would be filing a complaint with the ************************************** she put me on hold; came back on the line and stated that the check was sent out and they see it had not been cashed. I asked why the amount they were sending was not the full amount of the overage and she explained that they like to keep a buffer of 2x the monthly mortgage in escrow with no explanation as to why. **** then stated that they would VOID the current check as it seems "lost" and will be issuing us out a new check to be drafted some time before March 31st. This is still not a 100% solution; but I am willing to be patient and wait. We need this money now - OUR MONEY - that was sucked out of my checking account from the past year to pay our income taxes by April 15th! It is annoying and frustrating to have to FIGHT with your own mortgage lender for your own money BACK. This was the 3rd long drawn out call to customer service.

Colonial Savings, F.A., bought out the lending agency that I started my original home loan with back in 2007. I never had an issue with the original agency, payments were deducted automatically every month for years and the escrow was paid without issues. Maybe that's why they are no longer in business because they were not attempting to ******* more money from their borrowers any way possible. My federal credit union which issued the direct deposits was bought by another federal credit union a few years ago, which caused me to have to change the bank routing number with Colonial Savings, F.A. Ever since that number was changed Colonial Savings, F.A. has taken advantage of my loan with them. They reported since my automatic payment routing number changed it opened the contact and they began charging me extra fees for biweekly payments that were set up by the previous agency. I spoke with customer service and was told I could do all the work of the original savings program and figure out an amount of extra principle and add that to a once a month payment to avoid fees. I noticed the last few years my end of the year escrow amount was extremely high compared to all other years and I had to come up with the cash so my monthly payment was not raised, so I included an extra escrow amount in the once a month payment as well.I noticed the Colonial Savings, F.A. agency has been charging me extra fees again, for adding additional principle and escrow to the once a month payment. It seems there is no way around not paying extra fees with this company. I will find a lending agency to buy my loan from them, there are many, and my credit is great so its just the inconvenience. Look out for your hard earned money, be a little inconvenienced, and find another loan agency. ******* is fabulous that way! Don't fill this ***** companies' pockets without trying another way. As greedy and underhanded as the agency is the board and owners are likely horrible people.

SCAM ALERT!They denied my application before I even finished it, told me I needed a co-signer, and immediately sold my information to a scam "Home Buyer Purchase Assistance". It seems they prey on credit union members.
