We had a bad experience with this company. They came in to do some foundation and drainage work for my daughter who is a first-time homeowner. They are also having plumbing issues with water draining slowly inside the house. So, **** recommended a plumber that he "works with" to look at that issue. The plumber told my daughter and her husband that she had cast iron pipes and recommended replacing them for $20k. He also charged them $400 to investigate the cause of the water backup. My son in law went back to the inspection report and saw a picture of all PVC pipes under his house. When he confronted the plumber, he said that **** told him there was cast iron down there. **** says that he did see some down there, but was down there so briefly that he didn't know if it was connected or not (since the connected pipe is white PVC and suspended above the ground, the only cast iron he could have seen would be lying on the ground, unconnected). **** also said that he didn't stay down there long because the previous owner was tired of the disruption and kicked him out of the house. The realtor was there too and she says no such thing happened, the home owner was perfectly nice and accommodating. The plumber said he based his estimate off of what **** told him (even though he charged $400 for his opinion). The plumber says it's ****'s fault, **** says it's the plumber's fault. I think they are colluding together to see if they can scam new, young homeowners who don't know any better and they got caught. They are both dishonest and not reputable. On top of that, after being caught in their lies, **** refused to let my daughter out of her signed contract and charged them 30% of the contracted price ($3k) for breaking the contract. The contract with him was to put in a french drain, which after checking around, was highly over-priced as well. I would not ever use J&M Foundation Repair and Drainage nor *********************** Services, LLC. They engage in shady business practices.
