      I got the device installed in my car April 16th 2024. The equipment was installed before I was even elegible. I wasnt elegible until March of 2025. I was incarcerated for 65 days, from the end of January to the end of March. During this time I got locked out of my car and still being charged the monthly fee of the device. I have called smart start a few times to see if there is a way to get the device removed, pause the account or something. Being locked out of my car has been an still is a big struggle because I am unable to get to work or doctors appointments. I was told they are to run a check to be sure I am elegible for the device and the ******************** license. I have asked to have it removed and they wont until they get a letter of completion from penndot. My car has not been driven since January 2025 and still continues to not be driven. I would like the account to be paused or better yet taken out completely an have this year count towards the year I needed it in my car. This was their mistake not mine..

      They dont even deserve one star. How do I get put in lock out mode when my car had a dead battery and didnt move or get driven for 8 days? They are saying since its not a device malfunction that they will not credit me back my money for a violation. Yet, the car didnt move and I never even blew in it? They are nothing but crooks! Do not use them for your ignition interlock! Had I known they were going to be this terrible and dysfunctional I wouldve used intoxilock! Highly do not recommend!

      I have installed a device at the end of April and still cannot restore my driving privileges because the company refuses to send me a Certification of Installation which is required in **. I call to get the form, and the customer representatives are not helpful. They refuse to provide me with a supervisor to speak with and when I ask for a call back from one, they refuse. I have asked for information on how to reach the compliance team and they tell me that they are unwilling to provide any further assistance and to just call back another time. I got their product so that I could drive and now I have insurance, a device payment, and a car payment but I cannot drive because the company is not willing to provide the forms I need per the state of NJ.

      This company should be shut down I'm on food stamps not once they told me there's programs to help you pay I moved now it's 183 then come to find out they charging my credit card 50 dollars just for s*** and giggles with out my promossoon just look at my stampent 50 doller charges why you a robber 911 smart start using my credit card ok 50 dollars I'm on food stamps then one day the device says you have 72 house or you locked out of a truck I own smart don't own my truck I do not them me ok I go get it caliprated it says it was unplugged twice no I never un plugged ok 208 85 to unlocked the truck I own so I'm on food stamps but smart start own my truck and can bill my credit card for s*** and giiles you need a class action lawsuit a huge your a cropt company you don't own nothing of mine I'll rip that machine out you come get it from my hands dump company class action lawsuit bring it down hard you learn how feed you're kids while living on the streets

      This company is a ripoff my monthly bill used to be ***** now it went up to ****** and the shop that do my calibrations is going to charge be ***** for my calibrations because smart is refusing to pay them that's over ***** more I was promised to pay when I hire them do not do business with this company

      Machines malfunction regularly. 5 hour wait time for customer service phone line. Not to mention when your device is calibrated, they connect your device to a machine that uses the same mouth piece for every customer which is not only repulsive, but also a great way to spread diseases. On a positive note, if you contract herpes from them using the same machine on every customer, thats a huge lawsuit! Good luck.

      Absolutely worst customer service. They do not follow up, live agents are extremely difficult to get connected with, they over charge and have hidden fees, their devices are faulty and cause computer issues in your vehicle. I have had to have multiple repairs and tows due to device failure. Refunds for tows and follow *** on incident reports are ignored. I can not express how poorly this company operates and handles itself or customers/clients. Truly the worst company i have ever worked with (testimony from many, many other customers).

      Im not even going to give 1 star in fact if there was a neg star I wud do that You can never get a hold of anybody on the phone-long story short if you have a lot of money and want to give it away smart start will gladly take it and dont worry about that awkward kiss after cuz you wont get one!! The worst!! Save your time, your money, sanity and time find a different place that will work with you, care, and help you.

      Horrible! Locked out for no reason. My fees were paid, a week early. My car got locked out, they said I hadnt paid. Then they saw where I had paid and said I owed $63 to get it unlocked. It was completely their fault and I HAD TO PAY THEM to be able to get into my car.

      Worst company ever. Do not recommend at all! All they care about is money. It takes over an hour to get through to an actual person on the phone. When my car wouldnt start and was having electrical issues I called Smart Start and they claimed it was an issue with my car. After paying to have my car towed to the mechanic, once the mechanic followed the instructions to bypass the device provided on a 2 hour long call to Smarter Start, the car started right up no problem. Oh and I missed an appointment during this time which resulted in a $80 service lockout fee and then an additional $35 unlock code. Not only that, but because I missed an appointment, my license was suspended and I had to ************************ my 6 months over due to missing a month. And then they didnt even submit the service ticket to the ***. I find that suspicious business practices in order to get more money. They also just recently starting randomly making the date/time of your next appointment and if you cant make it charging $55. They claim to be transparent with their fees and provide them all upfront, but that is definitely a lie. They are very deceptive and I get charged for additional items every time I go. They fail to provide certain financial disclosures in their lease agreement.
