      I've been a customer of Berkley for years. The doctors are great however the optical center has evolved so badly that I will not even go back to see the doctors after this year's visit. The optical center has been increasing their charges so much now that you pay as much for a pair of glasses and they consume your insurance allowance as well. I paid 300 insurance allowance then another 387 for budget glasses. I contacted 3 other places and found they charged around the same price for the same thing without the benefit of the extra 300 insurance allowance. What makes it worse is that the glasses are not made as well, the lenses are not made well, and when they once gave you a year's warranty they now say 60 days and you have to pay for any extra warranty. The icing on the cake for me this year was that I have worn these glasses off and on for 6 weeks still within the 60-day period and they developed a crack right at the spot the frame meets the lens. I called them and they said that the 60-day warranty only covers prescription problems. So in total, I paid 687 for a pair of glasses that lasted 6 weeks. The vision spot is very small and these are the budget frames. I have been advising my doctor that the optical had been getting too expensive. The crookedness they are practicing is too obvious for me anymore and the doctors are supporting it or they would put their foot down. I can no longer support this business or give them my loyalty or any more of my small income. Im 65, have been wearing glasses since I was 40. I have worn them in a highly physically demanding career field and never have I had a cracked lens. I definitely do not recommend them and would strongly advise not to go to them for anything. I gave them one star because in the past they were a good fair caring business.
