      I moved to Houston early last summer into a three story townhouse and had an uncomfortable time due to a lack of insulation and 27 single pane windows. I loved the home because of the light, but I definitely needed new windows and more insulation, I got the insulation easily, but I found that selecting replacement windows is not as easy. There are several different types of construction and ratings, and prices are all over the spectrum. The sales representative from Avana Windows, Natalie Vaughn, was head and shoulders above the other four from whom I got estimates. She was extremely efficient in measuring the large number of windows (some of which were unusual in shape) and in walking me through the different types of construction, the reasons for them, and the expectations that I could have. The prices that she quoted were reasonable, and I chose Avana after studying the information from all of the vendors. Installation took place about three months later by some of the happiest people whom one will ever meet. I mention this because I have found that employee satisfaction is a good indicator of how a business is run. It was done in a few days, and the site was left clean and neat. Winters in Houston are mild, so I didn't really get a good idea of how well the new windows would perform. This summer though has been one of many days with temperatures above 100 degrees, and my two air conditioners have only run intermittently and have kept all three floors so comfortable that I am not aware of the outdoor temperature. Last year both air conditioners ran constantly, and it was still hot inside. I have received several compliments from my neighbors on the appearance of the new windows also. I am exceedingly pleased with the performance of Avana windows and with all of my dealings with them.
