    I had a colonoscopy done on Dec 19 2023. When we arrived they asked if I wanted to file it on insurance to go against my deductible. We knew insurance wouldn't pay for the procedure due to the fact that they had paid for the same procedure 3 years earlier and they only pay every 10 years. I told them NO, do not file it as my deductible would reset in January (in 12 days) so there was no point. They filed it anyway and by doing this the cost of the procedure went from cash pay rate (which I had to pay before the procedure) to the insurance rate which generated an invoice to me of over $1000. This is deceptive on the part of the clinic and a way to increase their billing amount. they need to honor the rate that they quoted and already collected.

    I had a colonoscopy on 5/11/22 and was quoted $0 patient responsibility. My bill came as $3033 because i had polyps removed. They are claiming the procedure "went medical" and that is why the charge is so drastic. However I had polyps removed five years ago same dr, facility, and insur and was not charged. It is all over my medical records that I am high risk and will continue to have polyps for the rest of my life. Why would they quote me $0 for a routine colonoscopy then? They had all the information to give me a proper quote. If they had done so, I would have chosen to delay this elective procedure due to some extreme medical bills from my son's injury. In addition, since last time my procedure "went medical" and had the polyps removed with no additional bill, I had no way to know that this time should be any different. I have been attempting to work through this since June and they have not been receptive to working out any response from them and they have now sent me to collections. This is their mistake on so many levels and they have done nothing to make it right. I would not have had the procedure at that time had I known the potential for a $3000 bill that my family could not endure at this time.
