In February,2023, I hired the owner of Collective Home Mercantile to hold an Estate Sale in my home. She advertised that she did these sales. I had checked references on several websites and all looked good. The sale was held March 10-13. She was to send a check 3 days after the sale when the credit cards charges had cleared. Our last correspondence was April 4 (when she stated that she would have her bank process the payment. My part of the sale (60% was over $4000.) After that she stopped all texts, did not answer her phone or return calls, nor have I received any money or check. I have since found that I am not the only one she has done this to. I am in the process of taking legal action. This needs to be stopped.

    Dear
    Houston BBB,

    Is
there anything you can do to help me with an estate sale company who hasn’t
    paid me?

The company name is Collective Home
Merchantile and the owner is Sheri “***” *******. The on-site sale was back in
September. She did do some tasks since then that I requested like: mailing some
items to my siblings, but I haven’t actually been paid by her.

    I
have already had my probate lawyer send them a demand letter and had some
estate listing websites remove them. When my lawyer did the research for the
demand letter, he found out that Ms. ******* doesn’t actually have Collective
Home Merchantile (dba) registered in Texas.

Here is all the information you might need to help:
    Whether
or not you have a contract - Yes, it's attached.
    The
    date(s) of your sale: Sept. 9-12, 2022
    The
    address of your sale: ***** ***** ****** **** ******** ** *****
    Company
name and Owner: Collective Home Merchantile owned by (Sheri) ***
    *******
    Company
    Email & Phone: ******************@*****.com & ************
    Owner
    (*** *******) Address: ***** ** * **** ** ****** ** *****
    Date I
was supposed to be paid: December 20, 2023 per text with ***
    *******
    The
amount I was supposed to be paid: I never got a total for how much
everything sold for. There should be 2 payments though. One payment should
be to the Estate of Philip J. ******. The other payment goes to me,
Samantha ******, because my dad left me some items in the will that I
    decided to sell.
Let me know what you can do to help or if you need any more
    information from me.

    Thank
    you,

    Samantha
