On August 29, I hired Flagship towing and boat storage to haul my boat out of the water and store it in advance of the hurricane season in ******************, **. During haulout, two employees of Flagship towing towed my boat to the boatyard located in *****************, **. Prior to the haulout, my boat( est $55,000) was kept completely covered, dry, clean, and in excellent mechanical condition on a floating dock with under 150 hours of use. I paid $350/month storage until December 14 ( the first month of storage apparently went unknown to the company as one of the employees pocketed my money for himself and did not tell the manager in ***** that my boat was being stored on the property and he was let go from the company) Manager then contacted me in September and asked me to continue paying the $350 through the company website and also informed me at that time that although the lot was used to store salvage boats from hurricane ***, he would allow me to continue to store my boat on the property since it was already there through not fault of either of us. On December 14 I made arrangements to have my boat taken to a ****** in order to transport back to my dock. However, before transport, I was told my boat would not start and to make other arrangements to have it moved. I went to the boat yard to find out why it would not start and found my boat in horrible condition. My cover was never placed on, the plug was never taken out and there were several inches of standing water, leaves and debris in my boat. It destroyed my battery, battery acid had leaked all over the boat, ate through the battery cables, ruined the cover that was stored inside the compartment with the battery and a whole host of other mechanical and cosmetic issues. The boat was so badly damaged that it had to be towed to a ****** for repair and I received a bill in late April for almost $7400. A bill and photos were sent to Flagship for reimbursement but they have denied all responsibility
