My mother moved at Elan Westpointe Feb. 2020 & after 3 yrs of neglect we have moved her elsewhere. The Covid outbreak happened 3 weeks after she moved in, & everyone was locked in their room months on end. She had contractual violations of paid for amenities, no internet, only cold water for *************** due to the inability to provide hot water for all residents. While I visited the elevator system shut down for hours. Residents needed to stay on their floor missing lunch & if necessary use the stairs. Thank goodness no emergency since 50%+ of them use walkers/wheelchairs & couldn't use stairs. In the 13 days I was there she had requested numerous times her dinner brought to her room to no avail. They only made her bed 3 times, a service they guaranteed would be done daily & part of what she had paid for. She often would take her own glass/cup to the DR since they didn't have enough for the tables & frequently ran out of flatware & basic condiments. The staff turn over was horrendous & numerous reviews can be read in regards to the staffs perspective of this Corp. Maddening thing was even though sub-standard service, reduced amenities they continued to raise the rent annually. They encourage family participation yet they were very standoffish, uncooperative, & somewhat annoyed by my attention to the lack of what my mother was paying for. Typically family is not allowed to stay as I did but being from out of state they allowed it & were regretful I'm sure. My brother lives close by & she had broken her collarbone & stayed w/him 3 wks before I arrived. When I asked since she had paid for almost an entire month & wasn't even on the premises to possibly have dinner w/her a couple times it would only be allowed if my mother agreed to pay an additional charge even though they hadn't provided 3 meals a day for 28 days. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for yourself or your elderly parents. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE
