I called Eagle Propane on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, to ask for propane delivery to my home. I was asked for credit card information at that time. I was told my invoice total would be texted to me after the delivery was made. There was no mention of credit card processing fee. The delivery was made on the next day (Oct. 19). The amount charged showed up by text a little later with no details of charges for a total of $773.52, which was about $28 over the actual cost of the propane ($2.07/gal for 360 gal). I called on Monday, Oct 21, and was told there was a credit card processing fee, that the "report had been run" and the fee was irreversible even if I were to send a check. My problem is that the credit card processing fee was never mentioned until I called the office on Monday. Isn't it illegal to fail to disclose this fee until after purchase? I have no idea if a remedy/ refund is possible, but I would certainly appreciate it if that could happen.

The credit card processing fee is posted in the office, but as mentioned was probably not mentioned during the phone call. i am not sure if it was or was not as i was not the person who took the call. but it is policy to let customers know.   i will not issue a full refund of the $773.52 since Mrs. ***** ******** did receive the fuel she ordered.   but i will gladly refund the difference of $28.32 which is what the total of the credit card processing fee is for $745.20 @ 3.8%
