      I confirmed with Next Step ************************* associates that my insurance was in network and scheduled a visit 8/11/2022. I paid $180 after they performed my sons procedure for an ingrown toenail and was scheduled for a 2 week follow up. After the follow up service they handed me a paper proceeded to tell me that in fact they had not been given clearance and I now owe for the procedure entirely plus an additional charge for the follow up visit. I asked why did they not make me aware before hand and the response I got was - it didnt show us in the system and that my insurance only cleared the visit but not the procedure - I should have been provided that information up front so I could have made the best choice for my finances. When I addressed my concerns about paying for the follow up the representative stated it was not surgery, but when I advised that my son did in fact have a form of out patient surgery the representative then stated because I didnt follow up within ten days thats why there is a charge, however they are the ones who advised to come back in 2 weeks. Had they made me aware of this I would have followed up within the ten day window to not incur additional and unnecessary charges. The representatives responsible for clearing insurance were negligent in providing all necessary information upfront.

      I spoke with my billing department, and they had already talked with the patient's mother, saying that they would get with the doctor and that she was more than likely going to write off her charges as a result of the mixup in communications.  I received word today that my employee spoke with her again today and informed her that the amount had been written off.  She is mailing her a ledger showing that it has been done.

      Please make whatever notations you can to reflect this on our account.

      I am rejecting this response because:I did get confirmation from the doctor ****** that this would be taken care of and they sent out a final invoice with a zero balance. Just wanted to update the status.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to **** did get confirmation from the doctor ****** that this would be taken care of and they sent out a final invoice with a zero balance.
