      We rented 2 carts from Jackfish and the pick up was simple and they were very courteous. The cart we were supposed to get looked lovely, but when he turned it on, it was making a noise that persisted when he took it for a trial run so he took me to another lot to choose from some obviously older models. I took one of those and was on my way. The next day after we were out on a deep sea fishing trip it wouldnt start so we called and after a short wait they brought us another one- an inconvenience after being on the water all morning, but it was fine. The next day (after wed had the other cart 2 days) the back seat came loose so we had to call them about that. After looking it over, they informed us that we would be charged $400 for the replacement part. After we spent about $1740 for the two carts for 5 days and had operated both carts in what I attest was a responsible fashion, $400 for a part that we did not do anything that should have broken was not acceptable. After talking with an employee and the manager, who refused to give me her name, we had been told that they could charge us or put in a claim to our insurance. That we signed a contract stating that, if we broke something, we would be responsible for it- which is perfectly logical and I do not mind paying for something if we broke it. But if sitting on it while riding to the beach is enough to break the $400 part, I do think they should let you know that. In addition, it was a simple enough fix that we could / would have repaired ourselves had we had any idea that they would charge such and exorbitant fee for, but they requested that we call them about anything that was wrong to let them take care of it. I feel confident that we honored our side of the contract and acted in good faith. I dont think Ive never filed a complaint before. We love port a, are staying in a lovely beach house with great friends our ours, have enjoyed fishing, surf lessons, even sand castle lessons.
