The worst timeshare possible. We bought a designated, week 27. Everytime we tried to use it, not available, even though the contract says week 27. They then informed us the language only meant a prime week, which we have never used since we purchased around ****. We got the 2 room lockout. In all this time, we have used only the larger space once.I complained about the specific week not available, impossible maintenance fees and special assessments, etc. We never received any of the special gifts promised when I went to redeem my golf "tickets", no good, we discontinued that, even though it was part of the purchase. When I further complained, that the timing was never right, they said another $5500 would give you the right to pick any days by points, still nothing. The pitch took an hour, never mentioned deeded in perpetuity.. And I don't recall every seeing any of these details in writing, and they absolutely not discussed. The salesman was a sleazy liar as far as I am concerned, and when I visited the office to complain, my only "solution" was to convert to points. There is nothing to do there, no decent close restaurants and theirs is terrible, no luxious spa, nothing promised.

Tanglewood Resorts heavily manipulated and deceived us into purchasing one of their units. They repeatedly told us the deal was only good that day, which created a false sense of urgency. Because of this false urgency, we didnt want to miss out on the real estate investment that would generate rental income and was exclusive to its owners and guests. The reservation availability is horrendous, and the fees are never-ending. They said we could exchange our week for vacation destinations all over the world, but when we tried to exchange our week, our desired destinations were not available. To book a stay at all, we had to plan to travel over a year in advance and stay at 2-star properties. We paid off the loan to the tune of more than $20,000 and have actively been trying to give back the unit as the maintenance fees constantly increase and we dont feel obligated to pay for maintenance on a resort we have never been able to stay at.
