Last year in July (23) I bought a summer camp package from the owner of the business, ***************************** (******). I paid her $200 to keep my spots for 2 children. The day summer camp was going to start she told us that it had been raining a lot and it was too wet for us to start camp, the same thing happened the next day. Afterward we said we would try to start the camp next month. Next month came around and her excuse this time was that a horse had died and they wouldnt be able to start that day because it was just too hot for everyone. By this point I had already paid the full amount for the camp since we were supposed to have started almost a month ago. Later on she reached out to me saying that her son was very sick and needed some type of surgery and asked if I could help her with anything I could or buy more lessons from her (which I already had about 20 lessons each kid) just so they could make do and have the surgery for her son. I sent her all I could at the time ($50) because I just felt bad for the situation she was in, having two kids of my own. Later on when I reached out about starting lessons again she told me she was going through a rough patch but would be moving to a new place in February and we could have lessons then. February came and went and I reached out in March, I told her I needed my money back because lessons were clearly not happening. She said she would Zelle me the $500 on Monday because she was out of town. I texted her on Monday and she had blocked me. She blocked me on FB as well.

On 9/27/23 we reached out to the owners of M1 Family Equestrian to board our two horses. We had previously toured the facility in May and thought it had great potential. ******** spoke to us and communicated that the facility is fully functioning and had on site care, a round pen for ground work, and both covered and uncovered stalls. She asked for a $200 deposit to hold the spots which we paid. The next day she asked that we pay for the next months boarding fees but that we would receive a discount for boarding two horses. We asked to tour the facility first to which she replied that she was taking care of her child in the **** and wouldn't be able to meet us there. Once we arrived the facility had not been taking care of in some time. The pasture was full of weeds. There was no round pen and there appeared to be only two horses there with no on site supervision. We let ******** know that this was not acceptable and that we needed our deposit returned. She agreed but said that she was now in the hospital getting her infected cesarean cut attended to from her baby's birth...in November of last year. She's continued to promise to return the funds but none have arrived.

I reached out to the owner about boarding at her facility. Based on her website, she had a great facility with a covered ************* access to trails, great care for the horses. I was not able to immediately go out to see the facility due to being out of town. I was asked to place a refundable $100 deposit that she would return if I decided to not board my horse with her. When I showed up, the facility was not what was advertised by any means. I do have picture evidence of this. I messaged the owner stating I was not going to board with her and she said she would refund the deposit. Now after 3 months of back and forth, she has refused to refund the deposit. She give excuse after excuse my bank isnt working its been a s*** show of a day, Ill do it tomorrow Ill do it right now. With no follow through. I have picture evidence of all interactions if needed.

I purchased a 20 riding ****** package for my family from the owner of M1 Family Equestrian on April 16, 2023 for $750. Between then and July 31st when I negotiated a refund with ***************************** for unused ******s, we only utilized 5 of the ******s. This was due to constant excuses by ***************** for our ******s to be rescheduled, hence why I asked for the refund. It appeared she had no intention, or ability, to do the ******s and instead of saying so, she kept making excuses. I have a long text chain which supports this statement. I negotiated a refund of $375 - which is much less than what she owes me. She claimed to be going through personal difficulties and I wanted to be sensitive to that. She told me the refund would take 7 days. After the 7 days passed, there has been excuse after excuse as to why I still do not have the funds she agreed to send me. As of today, August 30th, I still do not have the funds even though she has eluded to having the money and has twice said she forgot to hit send in the banking app. At this point, I am left feeling her behavior is not just unprofessional, but deceptive in practice.

M1 Family Equestrian Center is owned by ************************************. I contacted **************** about providing 2 ponies for an upcoming party at a residence. On May 1, 2023 a deposit of 1/2 the fee (total fee for delivery and 2 hours of supervised pony rides was $400- thus the deposit was $200) was made and **************** confirmed receipt of the deposit. Per her request, it was sent via Venmo. The event was to be held on July 2, 2023. On June 26, 2023 I confirmed with **************** via text that all was in order and reminded her of the date, the address, and the details. She confirmed that the ponies would be there on the 2nd. However, the ponies never arrived. When I contacted her the day of the party when she and the ponies "no showed", she promised all sorts of things, but also said she would refund the deposit immediately. I've had multiple text conversations with her since and there are many excuses, but the money has not been refunded as of today- August 7, 2023 at 4:00pm. I am requesting that the deposit of $200 be refunded. I have text records that confirm all of this information.

After filing the complaint with the BBB, M1 Family Equestrian finally did return the $200 deposit for services they did not deliver on.  This concludes my complaint, but I would rate my experience with this company an "F." Their "no show" to our party was a disaster, and the month of texts and calls required to receive the deposit back has been frustrating and time consuming.  I will never do business with ***************************** or M1 Family Equestrian again and will will not recommend them to others.
