I reached out to Steves and Son concerning a damaged door I received from them. I bought the door at *************. I emailed ****** ******** about my concerns with the quality of work, and I attached pictures. Mr. ******** saw that I had placed an extender down at the threshold, and he refused to uphold the warranty. I tried to explain to him that the extender is not attached to the threshold and is just sitting there to cover a gap. This company is fraudulent, and I will be reaching out to BBB as well. The pictures clearly show damage and missing paint. If you are not going to stand by your warranties, please stop issuing them. I don't understand how this door made it off the production line and into the warehouse. No QUALITY CONTROL/CHECK whatsoever. I am highly disappointed with this company.

Hello Madrina, we do understand your concern however, Steves and Sons cannot warranty labor they did not provide. We did show that the component ordered with the new unit ( composite brickmold)was intact. You ordered a 4 9/16 unit with brickmold unattached. the installer applied this but also used wood ********* to fabricate and extension for  the Jamb/ frame which appears to be  to a 6 9/16 depth or a depth larger than 4 9/16 and a sill extension was also used that we did not provide. The photos you submitted show damage of the onsite fabricated part. We suggest you reach out to the installer regarding these issues.

Spent nearly $5,000 on a new exterior front door. When it was delivered it was damaged. I immediately took pictures and provided to company. This company denied the claim to provide a new door as they only give you 4 days to inspect. They know this is ridiculous. This was an extremely large package delivered by freight. The package is around 7ft tall by 5 feet wide. I was not going to open this package until my installers were at my house to install the door. Which was around day 6 or 7. ********** (where I bought door) completely agreed and said that this is how the company gets around paying out claims. Brand new door, damaged and they wont help. **************** was TERRIBLE. DO NOT RECOMMEND COMPANY OR PRODUCT

Hello, This is unfortunate as new or replacement door can be quite an investment and as such to protect that investment,  the unit should be inspected immediately upon receipt and at a minimum within 4 days of receipt and reported to Steves and Sons. Our warranty actually stipulates two days however, we have augmented this to 4 days to insure the ********** store, its  3rd party carrier(delivers to customer) has ample time to inspect the unit and report any anomalies/ damage concealed or otherwise. ********** is aware of this. We cannot extend this inspection any further when the unit is no longer in our possession and we have no control over the environment of the unit and cannot recoup damages from our carriers. To note* if this was a direct internet order, ********** has it's own criteria for period the product can be returned  but, they would need to be consulted directly.

This is a ridiculous response for a number of reasons. First I purchased the door from ********** however the door was not shipped to ********** from your company. It was ordered at **********, paid for at ********** and shipped directly to me. So not sure who would be checking it. Second, the package was delivered in a huge crate, probably 7 feet tall by 5-6feet wide. I was not going to open and take everything out and risk damaging the door until the installers were ready to install the door. Which was like day 6 or 7. So 2-3 days screws the end consumer. I understand having a timeframe however 4 days is not sufficient with a project like this. Your expectations are completely unrealistic. The damage was done most likely from a pallet **** which is out of my control and was not noticed until everything was removed from the crate. Your quality control needs work as there were numerous chips all over the door that were not part of the damage. My installers couldnt believe it was shipped in that condition. I am out $5k on a brand new door and another $1k to have installed. What a shame. All that I needed was a new door. Not the whole frame and door. Just a replacement door. Your team couldnt even get the exterior trim right. Out of all of the doors I looked at, YOUR door was what I choose! I was so excited to get it installed and even with the issue I was totally fine as I figured it would get resolved but I guess this is just how it goes..

Too add one final point, when I ordered this door I was advised that delivery would be 4 weeks. My door was delivered almost 8 weeks. YOU were nearly 4 weeks late delivering my door which caused a delay in having it installed. I will take further action against your company if you will not stand by your product

Had a problem with every door we bought literally! The main entry store forgot to have the holes drilled in it for the extra locks at the top and bottom. The side door strike plate was turned around backwards. The third door would not lock unless the key was in it. Terrible and that was after we had the side door sent back twice due to the wrong door coming in. We're working with ********** now to try to get this fixed. The doors will not even function properly. Next we

Ordered from ********** 6/7/2023 Installed Sept 2023 While cleaning the side window we noticed a crack on the outside pane of the side window. No evidence of impact to the window. Crack is hook shaped at top and travels approx. 8" toward the bottom of the window. Needs replaced. Window is *****'s and Sons Legacy Collection Fiberglass Pre-hung Front Entry Warranty claim was denied almost immediately with little attempt to understand the issue. Glass was cracked probably during manufacture. Awful customer service. No interest in satisfied customers. They said deal with ********** not them..WOW ********** - Is that really what you want your supplier to tell customers.I just want the door repaired. Spent a ton of money at ********** on a renovation project and hope you will help.Recommend ********** discontinue selling these doors. A lot of unhappy buyers on the reviews

Excellent quality and craftsmanship. I purchased ********* Legacy door with a one panel bottom , black door and love it. The privacy glass in the top allows light into the room but still has privacy. The door it air tight and seal perfectly.

Hello *******, We understand your concern however; Storm doors can trap heat and can cause damage to an exterior door. The unit has a storm door installed trapping heat between it and exterior door which caused sealant seepage. You had this serviced once by another company without notifying us and did not contact us until over 5yrs after purchase. Had we been reached out to sooner, we could have advised you of storm door issue. Unfortunately we cannot reverse our policies. Sincerely,******************************* Steves and Sons National Warranty Manager
