I signed a contract with Baird Foundation on 2/22/24 to repair cracks in my driveway. I was told it would be a one day job. It was scheduled for 3/4/24. The two man team arrived two hours late and began to work. After about four hours work, they said they needed to come back the next day to finish and I said I would be available. They said they would be at my house at 9 and at 11 that day I called the company because no one showed up or notified me of any change. I was connected to a man in ************* who said he was the supervisor and he had no other employees to send that day. I told him that was not acceptable and after a long conversation he said he would come from ************* and do the work himself. After a few hours he arrived and worked. However he did not finish and said he needed a time when I can be here, so I wrote down two dates that I would be available. He said he would be here on 3/15 or 3/16 from 1-5 pm to finish the job. Today is 3/15 and no one has showed. When I called the company they said they didn't know who I dealt with and there was nothing in my record reflecting any of this. In other words, they didn't know what I was talking about and all of the managers were in a meeting so I could not talk to anyone in authority. I just want my driveway finished, but at this rate it will never be done. I want to warn anyone who might consider doing business with this company, to stay away. They have my $1400.00 deposit and my credit card number, but I can't get anyone to show up and do the work.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me based on the service I received on 5/1/24. The new lady that took over the assignment was on time, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. She was the opposite of the other employee I dealt with. This employee should be in charge of the entire office.

I ask Baird Foundation Repair to quote an estimate on foundation repair, I made an $8,000 deposit. I received no services. I canceled the contract and requested return of deposit in February. I was informed this AM (Apr) that the company does not return the deposit.4

      Business Response

      Date: 04/02/2024

************, according to the contract signed on December 18, 2023, it clearly states that the deposit is non-refundable if the cancellation occurs after three business days of entering the contract. Your cancellation on February 23, 2024, well beyond this timeframe, unfortunately does not meet the requirements for a refund of the deposit paid. As per the Notice of the Right to Cancel that you signed, the period for a refundable deposit was from December 18 to December 21, 2023.

Since the signing of the contract, several months have passed which has resulted in various costs incurred by us in preparation for your project such as obtaining permits, scheduling, securing engineers, and purchasing materials. These expenses are part of our obligation under the contract. Given these circumstances, we regret to inform you that we are unable to issue a refund of your deposit and kindly request that you close this complaint.

Should you have any additional concerns or queries, please feel free to contact our office at ************. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

I am rejecting this response because: What was stated to you is not true. The ** never applied for a city permit. Engineer survey was not required.

because they just did the house next door. Any material purchased for this job can be used on any other job. I think they should consider returning at

least half of the down payment.

2 weeks ago I used Baird to install support jacks under parts of my foundation. As part of the work, they cut a couple of water sprinkler lines. They then fixed the lines when they were finished with the foundation work. however, they did not fix one of the lines correctly and it does not work and it is touching the house which is not appropriate for a sprinkler. It will actually cost me more to fix what they did then to have fixed the line when the dirt was out of the hole and the lines were open. Now i have to have someone dig the hole and recut and fix the lines. They have refused to come fix the line arguing that it was not their responsibility in the first place. The problem is that they undertook the responsibility and then did it wrong and now won't remedy their work. This is wrong and improper business practices in my opinion, especially on a 20k job.I am looking to get a $200 credit now to fix what they broke twice.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention, *****. We are sorry to hear about your experience with a few of our staff members. Per our contract, Baird Foundation Repair is not responsible for any utility lines that are cut/broken during our installation process. However, it looks like exception was made for this by the field crew. Our General Manager tried to reach out to you via phone call yesterday to reconcile this issue and offer you the $200 credit you are requesting to remedy any issues you have had with your water lines. Please reach out to our office at your earliest convenience to resolve this matter.

Thank you for the feedback, ****. We are sorry to hear you would like to cancel your project and about your experience with Baird. We strive to provide a remarkable experience for all of our customers and would love the opportunity to turn this around. According to our timeline, the contract was signed on 8/24 and then you spoke with our logistics team on 8/29 to confirm the 4-week timeframe for us to begin your project. At that time, we were not aware of the timeline being an issue and our team moved forward with securing a permit and the materials for your job and we had you on the schedule to get started on 9/25. When you called on Friday to cancel, our representative informed you the deposit would not be refunded since we are well outside of the cancellation policy (3 days per the signed contract). A supervisor reached out multiple times to try to discuss on Friday and then again yesterday but has been hung up on. We'd love to resolve this and would appreciate a call back at ************.

We hired Baird to fill in under our driveway because it was hallowed out, caulk fill holes, and seal the concrete. There was an hour long sales meeting we had to attend before buying the service.Product: foam filler cannot be exposed to UV Rays or it will degrade (in Texas! - their hour long sales guy forgot to mention). We found this after installation. The spray sealant they put on the concrete stains ver easily! My kids colored with chalk on the driveway and now its blue & red forever or till I want to reseal. Red dirt stains the driveway too - went over it with a wheelbarrow. Scrubbed the concrete with **** dish soap & brush. Nothing budged. Work: Workers cracked in half a block of my driveway and chipped off my home foundation. The caulk fill in product they used was dribbled in so carelessly that my 10 year old could have done a better job. They seem incompetent and just want to bang out the jobs quickly. Management: It took weeks of calling to find anyone in charge. They wanted to come out and re power wash, re caulk, and reseal. I told them I didnt want to risk more large cracks to my driveway or foundation with the way they carelessly work. I asked for a refund for the mess of a driveway Im now left with. They offered a mere $300 off of a $3700 bill. It will take more than that to get the driveway resurfaced the cover the large cracks and caulk mess they made.

******** We are sorry to hear about your frustrations and want to help you fix the issues you are experiencing. I know you've been in contact with our supervisor, *****, and our team made several attempts to try to come out and make sure you are satisfied with the work. After these attempts to schedule the crew to come back, you ended up changing your mind and told our team that you didn't want anyone to come and wanted all of your money back on the project. We did complete all of the work we were contracted to do, so we hope you understand why we'd like the opportunity to come out and fix any areas where you are not satisfied before issuing a full refund as requested. We know we install quality solutions and the PolyLevel,NexusPro Joint Sealer, and SealantPro will provide long-lasting, protective measures to your driveway. ***** reached out again to schedule a time to come out and you were unavailable. We will continue trying to reach you so we can get this matter resolved. We look forwarding to taking care of you and ensuring you are a satisfied customer. We appreciate your business.
