    AshCam Colors was selected from 4 estimates to paint the interior of our 7 year old home. AshCam Colors was hired, despite being 20% higher than the lowest estimate, because he was the only contractor that specialized in painting. Prior to hiring, AshCam Colors stated they typically work 8-5:30 Monday-Friday. Our initial project was projected by AshCam Colors to take a couple of weeks. Although we did add painting cabinetry, which we expected to extend the completion time somewhat, there were very few days that more than 1/2 a day worked and several "no show", without notice, days and as a result the project took months. Work started on started on July 5, 2022 and ended on September 2, 2022. The scope of the work was to prime and paint: ceiling in main area, drywall, shiplap walls, trim, doors and cabinetry making necessary repairs. The estimate states "sanded areas will then be blown off and tack clothed so remove dust and contaminants from the surface" and "split caulking will be removed and re caulked [sic] with a siliconized or elastomeric caulk". While AshCam Colors' on-line presence alludes to skilled work, we are not completely happy with our project's outcome. There are places where paint was sprayed over dust and many surfaces have tiny paint "specks". The ceiling has shiny paint on it in places and the paint is inconsistently back-rolled. Some of the walls have visible "hat-banding" where paint was cut-in. Not all repairs warranted were made prior to painting. Some of these issues were pointed out during the final walk-thru but were not corrected. Other imperfections are visible only at certain times of day due to lighting. The biggest disappointment has been the re-caulking. Within a few weeks of completion, caulk has cracked in places and pulled loose in other spots. There are areas that we feel should have been re-caulked but were not prior to painting. Overall AshCam Colors made an effort but our expectations were higher.
