On 3/6/2025 I went to the *** upon arrival my state ID was scanned. I was advised that I should be admitted but was unable to due to the clerk checking me under the wrong (maiden) name. Because of the error, which I pointed out on 3/6, they were unable to verify insurance (obivously due to the name being different) so I was denied admitance at this time. I received a bill for ~$14000 showing they never tried to charge insurance. I have since called 2x, provided the correct name and insurance information and Methodist still refuses to put my insurance on file and charge insurance for the ** visit on 3/6. The bill is now 'over due' and Methodist is sending me daily reminders dispute the errors and faults being on their end.

I went to houston methodist emergency care center in katy. I had a panic attack and I wasnt thinking well. I asked the front desk about my bill, they told me that if I just need to speak with the doctor without doing any extra intervention it should be about 400 dollars max. They asked me to give them my insurance card. I told them I dont want to use my insurance, they told me that they need to see my card regardless but they will give me the discount that will make my bill out of pocket 400 dollars. I saw the doctor and all what he did was just talk to me and gave me a prescription. I went home and got a bill for 1890$ just for speaking with the doctor. This is not only illegal to force me to use my insurance, but they discriminated against me as being an **** made then think I am rich and did not give me the same price as other people who come to pay out of pocket even when I specifically asked them to do exactly that.
I want this to be investigated and het the same pricing for out of pocket patients who get out of there with a reasonable bill!!!
