Ghostwriting Squad website looked impressive and early conversations with ***** ***** gave me confidence to proceed. Naively, I paid full charges of $3,750 U.S. in early January, 2024. Website and published book were promised to be completed within three months. I was repeatedly accused by **** ****** of causing delays when I was pointing out errors made by Ghostwriting Squad. **** ****** accused me of harassment, vaguely threatening to have his 'legal' team contact me. Quality of book was extremely poor. Major errors remained when the 10 printed copies were sent to me included incorrect pagination, not capitalizing the names of ***** and Buddha, clipped image leaving it meaningless, and many more. I was accused of having approved the manuscript with the many gross errors. Website was good, but has since been altered to inferior, earlier version. I did not have a book or a fully functioning website. I hired a new publisher and had the book published by reputable firm for 1/10 GS price, within 5 weeks. I have had the website removed from Ghostwriting control to reputable firm. This was a timely book, but after 14 months, I am out 1/4 of my meagre annual pension, with no compensation. I am 78 years old and this work is the culmination of my research, education to doctoral level, and vast life experience. Even though I have been betrayed by Ghostwriting Squad I still believe in the goodness of man and hope for a positive and fair resolution.Business Response

Dear Concern,
In response to this complaint, I would like to address the fact that **** ****** has been our client since Jan 8, 2024, and has been a fantastic client. Everything went smoothly with her, and we completed her work per her instructions.
As part of our process, we write/edit chapter by chapter. Once we write a chapter based on clients instructions and requirements and share it with them to proofread it and approve it if they are satisfied with it, once the client approves the chapter, then only we proceed to the next chapter. We followed the same process with Ms. **** ****** in which she was delighted with the work and approve every time with great remarks and ask us to proceed further with the following chapters which we have in writing as a proof from her end. After the completion of chapter writing, we format the book and send the final file to the client to review it in detail, and if they think there is anything that needs to be corrected, they can let us know which we did the same with Ms. **** ****** where she also approved the final file and we moved to publishing the book but before publishing the book **** used some pictures in the book which she just downloaded from the internet on which we warned her that Amazon may delist her based on the pictures but she pushed us on using the same pictures which we did. After successfully publishing the book, we sent her the 10 printed copies that were committed to her, but it happen and ****** send us the correspondence because of the pictures and delisted the book. We sent her the correspondence from ****** on which she never responded her back. After a few weeks, she came back and told us about the errors and mistake which she had approved already, but however we value our clients, and still we did make the changes again as per her request, and now she is almost asking to make the changes in the whole book which we cannot do as have already provided her all the services which were committed to her.
As she has already placed an order with another company and the other company needs the money, she is asking us to refund the money so she can pay them, which we cannot do as we have already provided her with the services.
I am attaching some screenshot to give you an idea about it. If you need more proof of communication, we are more than happy to give you that.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]**** ****** Response
In response to this complaint, I would like to address the fact that **** ****** has been our client since Jan 8, 2024, and has been a fantastic client. Everything went smoothly with her, and we completed her work per her instructions.
The response from the writer from Ghostwriting Squad included many outright lies. The first being, we completed her work per her instruction. If that had been the case this need for a resolution would not be necessary.
As part of our process, we write/edit chapter by chapter. Once we write a chapter based on clients instructions and requirements and share it with them to proofread it and approve it if they are satisfied with it, once the client approves the chapter, then only we proceed to the next chapter. This is a further fabrication. The discrete articles on a range of subjects, not a chapter book, were not ghostwritten, but were originally published on a well known podcaster's site. They did not require proofreading since I have a B.A. In English. Unfortunately, I had to make many corrections to the changes Ghostwriting Squad made to my written text. We followed the same process with Ms. **** ****** in which she was delighted with the work I would never characterize my responses as delighted and approve every time with great remarks and ask us to proceed further with the following chapters which we have in writing as a proof from her end. After the completion of chapter writing, we format the book the I most certainly did not approve the incorrect pagination and many other errors that was not apparent until I received the sample books and send the final file to the client to review it in detail, and if they think there is anything that needs to be corrected, (a basic understanding of a 4th grader would know the requirement of capitalizing names of Buddha and *****, but Ghostwriting Squad staff did not and made that gross change to my text. This is just one of many errors by Ghostwriting Squad I had to have corrected over the nearly full year) they can let us know which we did the same with Ms. **** ****** where she also approved the final file and we moved to publishing the book but before publishing the book **** used some pictures I purchased some pictures from ****** and used some that had been inserted by the podcaster. I asked **** ****** about the images I did not purchase. His response was that if I paid an additional $1,000. the legal team at Ghostwriting Squad would deal with it. Already deeply distressed by the many unprofessional interactions between **** ****** and me, I declined to pay money. in the book which she just downloaded from the internet on which we warned her that Amazon may delist her based on the pictures but she pushed us on using the same pictures which we did. After successfully publishing the book, we sent her the 10 printed copies that were committed to her, but it happen and ****** send us the correspondence because of the pictures and delisted the book. We sent her the correspondence from ****** on which she never responded her back. After a few weeks, she came back and told us about the errors quite simply, a lie and mistake which she had approved already, but however we value our clients, and still we did make the changes again as per her request, and now she is almost asking to make the changes in the whole book which we cannot do as have already provided her all the services which were committed to her. Note the contract included many elements that were not addressed at all, including marketing. It had appeared to be a full service program but was a heartbreaking disaster, a sham, now topped off with lies.
As she has already placed an order with another company and the other company needs the money, she is asking us to refund the money so she can pay them, which we cannot do as we have already provided her with the services. This sentence is not factual. I was embarrased by the poor quality and the many errors in the book as a result of what I can only define as inept and uneducated employees in the English language, formatting of books and many more errors of Ghostwring Squad. Under false pretenses and not completing most aspects of the contract professionally while they had required payment upfront. My naive, trusting response cost me a great deal of money and colossal waste of my time. Since I was committed to having my book published and have a fully functioning website it was necessary for me to engage a local company to format the book correctly and have a professional website designer to take back control of the website. Both of these professional companies cost me in total less than 10% of what Ghostwriting Squad had insisted on upfront. It has taken me 14 months to pay off the debt I incurred to pay Ghostwriting Squad. It is a lie that I want a refund to pay another company. I paid them in full after they completed the work.
I spent a very stressful year dealing with Ghostwriting Squad and in the end received nothing of value. Their level of dishonesty and lack of professional conduct is appalling.
I am attaching some screenshot to give you an idea about it. If you need more proof of communication, we are more than happy to give you that.

(The response from the writer from Ghostwriting Squad included many outright lies. The first being, we completed her work per her instruction. If that had been the case this need for a resolution would not be necessary).
- If this was not the case, then how did she approved the final file and we went to the publishing process and also sent her the printed copies?
(This is a further fabrication. The discrete articles on a range of subjects, not a chapter book, were not ghostwritten, but were originally published on a well known podcaster's site. They did not require proofreading since I have a B.A. In English. Unfortunately, I had to make many corrections to the changes Ghostwriting Squad made to my written text).- This is how the process works which we explained her before she signed up with us and that's how we worked for her.
(I would never characterize my responses as delighted)
- We meant that you are satisfied with the work, and we have already attached the screenshot as the proof of the conversation and responses from her.
(I most certainly did not approve the incorrect pagination and many other errors that was not apparent until I received the sample books)
- You can check again the final file we sent you which you approved and we uploaded the same file to publish and printing.
(a basic understanding of a 4th grader would know the requirement of capitalizing names of Buddha and *****, but Ghostwriting Squad staff did not and made that gross change to my text. This is just one of many errors by Ghostwriting Squad I had to have corrected over the nearly full year)
- At the end we are also humans, a mistake can be made a 4th grader or a professional too, and that too is the reason we send the final file for the client to review before we publish anything. You being a B.A. In English, didn't you noticed that before approving the final file?
(I purchased some pictures from ****** and used some that had been inserted by the podcaster. I asked **** ****** about the images I did not purchase. His response was that if I paid an additional $1,000. the legal team at Ghostwriting Squad would deal with it. Already deeply distressed by the many unprofessional interactions between **** ****** and me, I declined to pay money).
- When **** ****** asked for $1,000 additional he mentioned that if these pictures will be used the book will be delisted, and with the additional money he will purchase new pictures under your name but you insisted to use those picture, and the result was exactly what we told you prior to publishing that the book will be delisted and it happened.
(quite simply, a lie)
- It's quite easy for you to just state that it's a lie, but whatever we are writing here we have proof of every conversation that we had with you so we will not write anything which we do not have a proof.
(Note the contract included many elements that were not addressed at all, including marketing. It had appeared to be a full service program but was a heartbreaking disaster, a sham, now topped off with lies).
- We accept that few service are not delivered to you but we never refuse to provide you with the service, we still can provide you with the remaining services and if you wish to proceed but the hold was from your end with the other services and you changed your mind about the other services and we do not offer any refunds on change of mind.
(This sentence is not factual. I was embarrased by the poor quality and the many errors in the book as a result of what I can only define as inept and uneducated employees in the English language, formatting of books and many more errors of Ghostwring Squad. Under false pretenses and not completing most aspects of the contract professionally while they had required payment upfront. It has taken me 14 months to pay off the debt I incurred to pay Ghostwriting Squad. It is a lie that I want a refund to pay another company. I paid them in full after they completed the work).
- This is not true, we take the quality of work very seriously and make sure to deliver what the client is asking for, we have 4000+ clients who worked with us and are pleased with our work which you find through the reviews that we get from them but this is truly unprofessional of her stating that the employee are uneducated in English language. It's not about insisting on paying the money upfront it's our policy that we take the money upfront from all our clients.
(I spent a very stressful year dealing with Ghostwriting Squad and in the end received nothing of value. Their level of dishonesty and lack of professional conduct is appalling).
- We are stilling willing to provide her with the remaining service if she is wants, however we do not offer refund on just change of mind which is also mentioned in our T&C.
