On 3/8/2023, myself, my father, and a friend were concluding a *************** with **** from All Seasons Guiding service in *****. We paid over 10k for the trip which on the invoice was to include the costs of meals, lodging, and guide. Under not included costs was gratuities for guides, lodge, and kitchen staff. One would assume these costs are obligatory, but not mandatory. We brought $150 cash to tip the staff with. Upon the conclusion of our **** we went with **** to settle tips, and gave him the $150. He laughed and said no, we like 20% and then informed us of an apparently mandatory 10% minimum tip amount (of the whole **** cost) for guides, plus an additional $100 tip for the cleaning ladies and another $100 tip for the kitchen staff. This amounted to an $1100 charge for my dad and I alone, as the charges were per person. These charges were not previously disclosed to us and were nowhere on the invoice or otherwise advertised as being mandatory. After reviewing the paperwork we have from him (the only paperwork we received being an invoice for costs) I am sure that it was not stated anywhere that gratuity is mandatory. If these costs werent mandatory, then he stated that they were and we had to pay them. We feel we were cheated by this business and that their actions were not conducive with an honest, legitimate business. We were charged $590.80 credit and paid the rest in cash. We received an unspecific receipt for this charge which I will attach. I understand as they are not BBB accredited we should expect not to be getting a refund for these costs, but I would like to help make others aware of my experience so that they dont find themselves in a similar situation.
