3-31-23 My vehicle stop running with transmission fluid running from the bottom. Advance *************** was recommended to me. I went to **************** and they assured me that they stand behind their work. After a few days they gave me a quote for the transmission and said I need to at least pay half for them to start working on the vehicle. I paid them a downpayment of $2060 on transmission work for a 2006 Hummer which was quoted as $4120 with odometer reading of *******. But before they did the work, they found an additional $3400 worth of work need to make the Hummer safe to drive and tip top shape. I told them I could pay the $4300 but the other work I need to pay in payments. They agreed. On April 13th I paid $2300 for transmission work and a little on the extra work. I wanted to pick up the vehicle but they said they could not release it until I paid the other $3219.08. I paid the balance on April 27th and picked up the vehicle which had ******* on the odometer. They assured me the vehicle was in top running condition, they said had tested drive and everything was great even though the 2 test drives were only a combined of 3 miles. I started back driving to ****** but within 15 miles the vehicle starting acting up, shaking, etc. I pulled over, stopped the car and turned it back on but it would not go. They had to come and tow the car back to their place. All this time, I was in a rental car and they said the repairs are under warranty but it will take more than 2 weeks to get the new transmission and put it in. I told them I thought they should compensate me with a rental car until my car is repaired properly. I have paid out over $7,000 and now still paying for a rental car. I think it only fair that they repair my car and reimburse me for a rental car or give me a refund for the inconvenience. I'm wonder if it is workmanship since there are ways to test the transmission before fulling installing it, except the clutch.

    Business Response

We replaced the transmission for the customer with rebuild unit from manufacture. The unit installed only lasted a short time. I understand the customers concern. We are trying to resolve the issue. We are having to wait on the manufacture to build a new unit for the customer. The customer was down a long time the first visit and when he Pickup'd the vehicle only to last a short number of miles and then fail. We are frustrated as well as the customer for the amount of time and innocence with the customer being without a vehicle. I don't blame the customer for filing a complaint with us. We are doing the best we can under the circumstances.
