I went in for an interview last week and they had this girl outside checking temperatures. It was over 100 degrees outside and she looked like ****. She tells me she's got diabetes and they have had her out there and won't let her at least sit in the foyer because it wasn't hot enough. The week before I came in to do the application and she wasn't out there and I asked why they was. Apparently she had a wedding out of state and the whole week she was gone nobody was mandated to take temperatures. As I was walking out I heard the girl talking to someone else and said the business knows about her health problems and have done nothing to help her. The girl had soaked through her clothes and was forced to just sit in thay way all day. And this was only at 11am and she told me she was there until 4:30pm. I hope this can be remedied as I feel this may be a health risk to her if she has a heat stroke.

The person that this complaint is about is working for Express and is on light duty. She is doing a job that is inline with what her Dr orders are as far as scope of work.
She is supposed to sit outside in the shade for 30 minutes and take temps of people before they come into the office. She is then to come in for 5 minutes and take a break. She sometimes chooses not come in for the 5 minutes because she stated it is cool inside and when she goes back out it gives her chills back in the heat. She is also given water/ice whenever she needs it. She will come in and we will fill her glass for her.
We have had her sit outside in the mornings and then have also brought her inside in the afternoons during times. She got upset at this on once occasion and cursed in the office.
We have had her do other tasks within the office as well. She has completed radio surveys, but was getting uncomfortable sitting in the back room, we have had her highlight office forms needed, but that makes her hands start cramping. We have moved her to continue to be under the guidelines of the light duty work the Dr has cleared her for.
Going forward, we will allow her to sit in the foyer to collect temps.

My girlfriend works through Express Employment Professionals, she is not a TX native she is from Michigan and not used to the triple digit heat numbers we suffer as a normality of our state but lately the people at Express have had her sitting outside taking temperatures of people before they are allowed into the business over Covid concerns but she recently left for a week to attend a wedding and upon returning learned that no one else was made to sit outside and suffer the heat like she did and upon returning she was made to return to that duty under the same reasoning, i have been watching her health decline day after day due to this, she comes home soaked from head to toe in sweat and as of the few weeks prior to the wedding had become increasingly more exhausted and complained of near ******** feeling of pain in her body, im contacting you because im a afraid that she is getting frighteningly close to a heat stroke since she is diabetic(something the company is aware of) and she cant possibly drink enough liquids to keep her sugar levels up while also drinking enough water to keep her body refreshed, this would not have been an issue had someone else taken her place outside while she was away since they mentioned being concerned about Covid but their concern only seems to exist when my gf is around, she is also not being compensated in anyway for being put at risk of exposure to balance this risk out, i hope you folks can bring a quick resolution to this matter before something happens to her. Thank You

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
She was never uncomfortable sitting in the back and has stated multiple times that she didn't mind it, it was the company who moved her for no reason and I find the reason the company stated to be lazy and nearly an outright lie
