    Went for a new patient appointment today and was very disturbed at the office. There were so many HIPAA violations, patients info out in the open, even patients financial information out in the open. I was in shock of the unprofessionalism of the paperwork! I dont think this business should be allowing patient personal info to be all over the place for anyone to see!

    Hello,

    *****, the office manager, has had a stem cell transplant for acute leukemia. she takes about ten cancer medications a day.

    She is gradually getting the office paperwork organized but is taking some time.

    Her insurance knowledge is vast and she helps many people each day.

    It is unfortunate that the patient is unaware of her situation.

    When I responded to this original notice I was unable to view the attachments.

    By contacting my local BBB she was able to forward the attachments in pdf which were readable.

    I understand the patient's concern. However, I explained that my wife, and office manager, had a stem cell implant for leukemia. Of the ten people who received the treatment only two survived and ***** was one. As such, she must take about ten cancer medications each morning which impairs her organizational skills.

    She is straightening her files now and should be finished soon.

    All of our claims must be submitted through a Clearing House called Waystar. Most doctors use Waystar. Last week Waystar had Computer problems in what they call SFTP settings.

    *****, our billng manager, has been on the phone with Waystar all afternoon. The problem should be resolved today or tomorrow. When it is resolved then the patient can be mailed the invoice she has asked for.

    This is a situation that is completely out of our local hands.
