We hired a contractor to put an in ground pool in our yard. We signed the contract for total amount of $96,340 in October 2022 and put a 5%($4817) deposit down. He contacted us in February of 2023 to start the pool construction. He started excavation on February 23rd and we paid him 35%($33,719). By March 13th we had the basic wall structures up and just needed to pour the concrete. I had asked him if he needed another check before went out of town March 23rd. He said yes and I gave him another check March 20th for another 25%($24,085). He did not return to do anything for 8 weeks. There has been little to no progress in 3 months. I have constant contact each week asking what will be completed and asked when are we on the schedule. He would always respond but never do what he said and never reach out to say plans had changed. I expressed my frustrations over and over and he just reassured me that it was going to get done. First it was end of May then it was mid-June and then he said it should be competed by 4th of July. I kept questioning over and over asking why he wasn’t coming out and doing more to hit these dates he was giving us. Finally I started reaching out to other companies to see what it would take to finish the job. I contacted Jose from Awesome Pools. He came out June 28th and took a look at what we had. He couldn’t believe this was all we had to show for 4 months of work and $65,000. He asked who our contractor was. When I told him Triton Pools he said that sounded familiar and that one of his clients had used him before. After about an hour, Jose calculated that the work completed was probably tops $25,000. I asked Jose if we could call his client that used Rob. Apparently he did the same thing to them but dragged their project out 15 months and took $120k from them. We also called Herriman City and he never got a permit for this job. I just want some of our money back so we fix his mistakes and finish the project he started 4 months ago.
