    I paid this facility over $2,100.00 for their monthly storage fees (does not include any late fees) and when I went to move my things out the first week of April 2023, all my property was damaged by what appeared to be a mice infestation. I stored a household of five in this approximately 10X25 unit (I cannot remember the exact size of the unit). I’m not talking one or two mice, a ton of mice! My personal belongings had rat urine and droppings all over them. We lost everything we owned, including memorabilia and heirlooms. We tried to do good by removing all our stuff and taking it to the dumps, but then my husband and son got very sick. We then decided it was not worth the health risk to return to the facility. Being as sick as we got, a hazmat team needed to empty this Unit. When I told the management about it, they contacted the owners, who never once reached out to me, but had a staff member tell me to be considerate of my loss they won’t charge me for April or any other fees. That does not come close to the fees I paid them. I refused to bring any of the rat urine and dropping home and risk contracting the hantavirus disease. Everything stunk, even hard surface items. I am not asking for payment of the thousands of dollars I lost for my personal property, but I do expect reimbursement for the storage fees. When we first moved in we noticed all units conncect so since the beginning of our rental agreement we took preventative measures by placing mouse traps at those connecting sites. We also have video of the mice traps placed along the units. There were only 2 traps and they looked destroyed and not maintained. After we notified management, there were several mice traps out.
