We turned the water on this year for our sprinkler system and we couldn’t get it to work. I called Angie’s List for a referral, and they gave me My Buddy the Plumber who came out on April 17, 2024 to check it out. First they told me there was a diagnostic charge of $300 to check to see why the system is not working. Sounded fair. After 10 minutes, the plumber guy called the master plumber to come out to see why the water was not working. Clearly the person they sent to begin with didn’t know what he was dealing with. Then the master plumber shows up, not having looked at anything and stated it would cost $7,000 to go through the entire sprinkler system. I was shocked at the price. Next thing I the plumber said the office called the technician and reduced the price of $3,800 to fix the system. He had me so freaked out that our whole system was ruined. The plumber called Roto-Rooter to dig the ditch for any main line issues. At that point, I told him before you start digging, you should call South Adams Water to see if the water was turned on. The request was ignored, and they dug the ditch anyway. South Adams came the next day and told him the water wasn’t on yet in our neighborhood. No wonder it didn’t work. They never even checked it before tearing up my yard. They packed up, gave us an invoice for $3800 for the trench and walked away – our sprinkler system didn’t work. It changed nothing. I think they didn’t have a clue what they were doing. I am older and I feel I was a victim of a vendor hustling senior citizens for money. My Buddy The Plumber was a trusted and reliable company... until they were not. Several years ago, I signed up for their membership service called "My Buddy The Plumber’s Club". After more than a year of the service I called to cancel the service. The person I spoke to said that was fine and they had cancelled the subscription. Well.... After several months (almost a year!!) THEY STARTED BILLING ME for the membership WITHOUT any notice or communication. TOTALLY UNETHICAL, DISHONEST BEHAVIOR.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Despite several follow-ups (Emails and Phone calls), repeated promises of when payment would be issued/received, and several weeks passing... they have still not followed through on their word.***NOTHING HAS HAPPENED***

I wish these folk had the same level of service when things to wrong that you have when things go right. This is a perfect example of a "profits over people" philosophy in action. Y'all have some serious service failure response problems. I cannot get over how inadequate your response has been. The easy option would have been to issue a refund on the card you initially charged . It takes less than 10 minutes to collect cash that you have earned... but more than a month to pay back cash that was unethically obtained.

I have been trying for several months to get them to come fix the bathtub they cracked. They did approximately $4000 worth of work and their technician dropped something in the tub and cracked it. We discovered this a few weeks later after discovering water leaking from our garage ceiling. The tub needs to fixed along with the garage ceiling. They sent someone out to make a report on the damage and promised to fix it but now won’t return our phone calls. Also the water regulator they installed is faulty and making noise.Initial Complaint

My Buddy The Plumber was hired to fix a dripping tub faucet. The plumber lied about what needed to be replaced. The plumber lied on the invoice that he removed and replaced items that he did not remove and replace. The plumber did charge for removing and replacing items that did not need to be replaced. I am not complaining about the price of plumbing repair. My complaint is that we were lied to. Maybe I'm just missing it but my previous complaints for this company seemed to have just been blown off by the BBB. I filed a detailed complaint and the company responded with trying to tell me I just didn't understand how expensive it can be to run a business. The BBB seemed to have dismissed my case by stating that my case was based on me just not being happy with how much plumbing costs. Even though I do think it is criminal to charge $530 to replace a 35 cent washer in ten minutes..... The bigger complaint is that they LIED! They have on their $530 invoice that they removed and replaced the seats. They did NOT replace the seats. Again.... ..... My complaint is that they lied on their invoice. We spent approximately $10k to have My Buddy the Plumber install a new AC unit in our house. Yet, every time it gets extremely hot outside, the unit dies. We have called My Buddy the Plumber for help nearly a dozen times. Each time, they send someone to our house and "swear" it is fixed. Yet within months, it breaks again. Now, they won't even return my call in a timely manner. From my perspective: they committed fraud. They sold me something that does not work, and they refuse to honor the written warranty. I want a 100% refund so that I can pay someone else to install a working unit.Business Response

We will be going to the customers house ASAP to correct the issue. Working with the customer and their availability we will be meeting them Tuesday 7/19/22. We are also bringing one of our most knowledgeable technician to help resolve the issue. This has been a re-occurring issue with the equipment that seems to happen at least once a year. I do apologize about the delay in response from a manager we received the phone call 7/14/22 at 8:45 AM but weren't able to have a manager call until 7/14/22 at 2:22 PM. We are a little short staffed so it has taken us a little longer to get back to the customer with Manager calls. We believe we know what is causing the issue and plan on replacing that component but want to bring one of the best service techs in the industry out to verify the fix. We do know how frustrating it is to spend money on equipment that is not working properly but unfortunately have to follow the proper procedures before we can replace the equipment with another unit.Customer Answer
