I cannot in good conscious recommend Deer Hollow to anyone. This is a voluntary recovery program that makes you feel like you have been court ordered to be there. They are growing to quickly and losing sight of the goal. A small percentage of the time you are interacting with actual clinical staff and in classes with educated people. However I would estimate 60% of the time you are with the household staff that have no business working there. I was retraumatized while being there. The staff is ill trained and ill equipped to deal with high PTSD first responder trauma. Most of the staff you will interact with daily is between ***** years old. All but one I talked to are not CPR or First aid cert. There is no AED on site. They have "chefs" that don't even have the basic food handling skills. Dropping cooking utensils on the ground and still using them. Leaving food out for hours and worst of all not washing hands. Hopefully they will get a visit from public health soon. Also forget about HIPPA, they are glad to discuss your personal business in front of everyone and bring you paperwork out to explain and have you sign. They will pressure you into finding any possible way to open a L&I claim. If you don't do their assigned community project to their liking they are happy to remove any privilege's, even though you pay for them. Its too bad they have some talented clinical staff working in a place that will discredit them. Be aware of anything you sign and ask lots of questions. Be sure to read everything and you can question what has been written before signing. I requested my records and it took over a month to get them and that was from bugging them several time. I hope whoever reads this takes this warning and goes somewhere else. Seeking treatment is important but again I cannot in good conscience recommend DH to anyone.

Thank God for the VA crisis hot line, and good friends, otherwise, I would not be here to type this. DO NOT GO HERE FOR HELP.If you value any shred of your freedom, do not go here. If you have a life outside of deer hollow, say a daughter to call, a lawyer to speak with, or anything else similar to that, do not go here. If you want your trauma increased, please, by all means, go here. They are more than willing to do it. They will not ask you what is going on if they feel you are being 'destabilized', or if you are having a bad moment because they told you they would have a phone for you at a certain time to call your attorney, but, the person who is supposed to help you with that is not there, and when you say you will take your phone and leave if they do not have it by the time you need it, they will take it as 'adverse'. If you are having a bad day, they will not ask you why you are having a bad day, but will interpret it as you being 'destabilized'. Once they have determined you are 'destabilized' or are 'destabilizing', in the name of "Good ethics". Will bring you outside, have a conversation about it with yo tell you they have already arranged a new place for you to stay. Then if you get angry because of this 'new news' (with only 10 mins to process the info) they will promptly tell you you cannot stay, even if the bed at the facility that they arranged for you is no longer there. They will not offer you a new place of your choice, and mind you, all choices are made for you. This was an awful place that made me fend for myself, and spend money on a hotel the evening I was kicked out. I drove across the country without a job, and without a home, to get help and I was removed because of two things. NO ONE asked me what was going on. They made their determination based only on their interpretation of events, and kicked me to the ***** Now I am STILL jobless, STILL homeless with no place to go,If you want a therapist of the same sex? Nope, not gonna happen.
