I purchased a year long personal subscription for Pluralsight on Sept 19th of 2023. I've used the learning platform successfully up until today, when my account was inexplicably closed. The phone number for the business is a joke - customers are given an automated message, told to email support, and then the call disconnects.I did email support but have yet to hear back. My next step will be to contact my credit card company and dispute the charge. At a minimum, the company should be responsive to customers during business hours. They should contact a customer prior to closing their account and give some explanation as to why they would take such an action. Maybe this review (and the other reviews i plan to leave) will get their attention and get a response.

Hi there. Thanks for submitting this review for Pluralsight. I can see your support ticket ******* was responded to within 24 hours. We apologise for the delay in response. We have worked through this ticket with you and hope the resolution was satisfactory. The account closure was made by your former employer but we apologise nonetheless for the experience and inconvenience.

Lack of communication leads to charges and unused subscription. I'd signed up for a discounted subscription in 2022 that I never used. Never received an email from them about upcoming renewal date until lo-and-behold I'm charged on my PayPal that sent me a notice of the renewal.I've asked for a refund, but from what I have read, I doubt I will get one. Had I received an email reminding me of the renewal date like almost every other company does, I would have canceled before being charged for a service I obviously decided not to use. I see a slew of emails about discounts for their services, but not a renewal advisement

I paid for a premium yearly subscription. Within the first week of using Pluralsight, I have received a "High Account Activity" warning and was blocked from my account. I had to email support confirming that I acknowledge the Terms of Service (TOS) and request for them to unblock me. They couldn't provide a definitive reason as to why I was given this warning, but they mentioned a list of reasons it could be, such as:
      - Unusual usage, such as excessive skipping through video content
      - The use of media scraping software or browser extensions that download video content outside of the approved offline player
      - Generalized/generic account information (ensure that your account information reflects individual ownership, such as a valid first and last name)
      - Having an unusual number of authorized devices (you may review Devices listed in your Account Settings to remove any that are not tied to the individual account holder, and any duplicate devices)
      - Unintended usage via malware
      - Using a VPN
      - Using a browser that has additional extensions or plugins.
Then they mention that they provide two warnings in the form of unblocking your account, and that repeats of this event will lead to a permanent block.
I follow their recommendations (change password, add multi-factor authentication) to prevent this from happening again. The next week, I get another email, stating the same thing. I am livid, since I was extremely careful not to set off the system. Now, I am justifiably worried that my premium subscription will soon be unusable since my account could be permanently blocked, seeing how normal viewing activity sets off the system. The "High Account Activity" monitoring system is ambiguously punishing ordinary users that use their platform. It's like selling a service, and then blocking their users for using that service, all the while citing their TOS, giving consumers very little confidence.

Hi Phillip. We are sorry to hear about your experience with Pluralsight. Our Security team implements these automated blocks to protect our system and learners. When this happens, we do require learners get in touch with us to confirm our Terms of Use. However, if learners are unaware of what is causing the high activity and blocks, we are more than happy to further investigate with our Security teams to see if they can provide more information.
We are limited in the block specifics we can share with learners due to security reasons. That is why we provide "common" causes for blocks. Please do reach out to [email protected] again if you would like a second opinion on this. We would love to help you with a resolution. Thank you for your feedback!
