DO NOT USE UTAH CUSTOM BUILDERS!I entered into a contract with the owner, *********************, a licensed and insured contractor. After many red flags, it was brought to my attention that his real name is Brain ******************* and that he is not a licensed or insured contractor. If you ****** Brain ***** *****, you will find that he was the owner of many nefarious business with terrible reviews of people claiming that he ripped them off, that he threatened people and took money for services not performed. These business were ***************** and Fathers choice. ***** came to me and said that we were way over budget. My contract with the man with a fake name and who was not licensed or insured was that his fee would be 25% on the project. I asked him for actual invoices, an account for money that was earmarked to pay the subs , and what was currently on order. What he gave me was a mass of fake invoices. One of the fake invoices was a line item for 12k. I asked the project manager who was working at my house, what this invoice could be. He said "no idea". when I searched the business with the 12K line item up on line- that business did not exist!!!!! This business and this con man have stolen 200K from he. The contract was with **************** as a licensed and insured contractor- all of this is false!! Just to prove ***** knew what he was doing, he tried three times to get one of his employees who does have a contractors license to use his license for the **** ****************************************** LLC contracting license, It was denied all three times. ************* made his employee, by forging a signature, a 1% owner in his company (how generous) so that he could add his name as an owner. Every other employee with the company has left him. With one project this man has had 2 project managers, 2 designers and one client (me) leave him.The wrap sheet of destruction is long. DO NOT BECOME THIS MANS NEXT VICTIM .
