During our stay at Wingate by Wyndham Hurricane/Zion National Park, my family and I (a total of six guests) used the hotel's hot tub on the evening of January 18, 2025. Shortly after entering the water, we all began experiencing severe itching and skin irritation. Additionally, we discovered that some of our swimsuits had become discolored and ruined, forcing us to discard them.

We immediately reported the issue to the front desk staff, expecting concern and prompt action. Instead, we were met with dismissive and unprofessional responses, including statements such as “We already know about it,” and “Hopefully the swimsuits were cheap.” No effort was made to check on our well-being or address the problem, leaving us feeling disregarded and unsafe. This is the main issue, our health and well being was not a priority.

The irritation was severe enough that all six of us sought medical treatment, resulting in prescribed medication that we had to use for several days. The hotel’s failure to maintain their facilities properly caused unnecessary health concerns and financial burdens, as we will have to replace our swimsuits and cover medical expenses.

    Business Response:
The hotel staff made no effort to resolve the issue or follow up with us after our complaint. They demonstrated no concern for our health, and we received no apologies or offers of compensation for the damage caused.

    Desired Resolution:
We request reimbursement for the cost of our ruined swimsuits and medical expenses incurred due to this incident. We ask for a reduced price of our stay due to the inconvenience of needing to seek medical attention during our vacation. We also ask that the hotel conduct a thorough inspection of their hot tub facilities and implement proper safety measures to prevent future occurrences.
