Beware sending your clock to Times Ticking! They wait until they have your clock before you learn the price or time to repair and their estimates are not free, as advertised. I contacted them by email to find out if they would fix my clock mechanism and what the time to repair would be. They said they would need to see the clock first. I have many antique clocks and have never paid more than $500 to have the most difficult serviced. ********** service company advertises repair of my clock for $195 ******* search: midwest-clock-repair ansonia) but with a wait time of 6 months, so I thought I might pay a bit more and get it done sooner. I packed up the clock and sent it **** to Times Ticking for $41. ***** called me and gave me an initial quote of over $2000 and time to repair of 6-8 months. When I told him to send back the clock, he told me he could come down in price if apprentices in training worked on the clock but he would have to check. He called back a few minutes later and quoted $1400. I told him to send back the clock. He charged me $70 to ship back my clock, but the actual **** charge for return shipping was $28.25. In summary, I paid $111 for nothing and Times Ticking made over $40 on a free estimate. They could have provided an approximate repair cost and repair time upfront and I would not have wasted my time and money. (August 2023).Business Response

Hello,
Yes, our estimate is free as we don't know the process to repair the clock until evaluating it - we do not charge for the evaluation. Our notes indicate the customer sent in an ******* ******* clock. He informed ** the clock is a fake/replica and he placed no value on it's repair. We have returned the clock to customer, as requested. Thank you.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The response from Times Ticking is false. They retained the balance between the $70 they charged me for return shipping and the $28 it cost to ship the clock, so their estimate was not free -- it cost $40. I would not have sent my clock for repair if I did not value it -- I just didn't want to pay ***** times the going rate for clock repair. Times Ticking intentionally chooses not to provide an estimate for repair and time to repair until after receiving the clock -- by then the customer has already spent time and money sending the clock and the clock is in the hands of Times Ticking, so it is a hostage situation.
Sincerely,

Times Ticking broke my watch while replacing the batteries. Sent it back to them months ago, as requested, for repair. After waiting months with no word from them, I posted a 1 star review on ****** and emailed them requesting they just send my watch back.It has been a week and they have not provided a tracking number or returned my watch.I just want my watch back, as it was a wedding present from my wife.Business Response

Hello, We've sent response to customer:
"Hello ****. We've attempted to contact with you multiple times, through phone calls, leaving voice mails - without response. Our team has indicated you've finally responded asking us "to not contact you." Hence, no communication, nor updates. Thanks for your feedback. Take care."
Further attempts to communicate were not successful, outside of one, where we've <attempted> to convey that once customer's watch is shipped he'll be notified through email notification that his watch has been returned. No further communication - per customer request.
We look forward to returning this watch to customer.

I am rejecting this response because: Business called this morning and told me they had not shipped my watch back to me as requested because of my negative review on ******* Once I directly called them out on this and that I would hire an attorney to *** them if they continued to hold my watch hostage due to my bad review, they backtracked on their claim yet still refused to ship my watch back to me immediately stating, "I will pass this information along". Business refuses to respond in writing to my email and only calls. I do not trust anything they say and want it in writing. Until my watch is returned and my previous payment to them is refunded, this matter will not be resolved. I will be handing this matter off to a local attorney very soon and washing my hands of them completely.
Sincerely,

In early 2022, I sent Times Ticking two Sector ADV **** watches in for repair. One had a bent crown, and lost 1-2 minutes per day, and the newer one didn't keep good time - stopping and starting, basically unreliable as a watch. In April, I received a notification that it was going to be $279 to replace the watch mechanism, which is a Swiss movement "just like Movado." I sent them the $279 and was optimistic about the repair. From that point on, I question whether Times Ticking has done anything to repair the watch. There has been nothing positive about the experience. First, the amount of time invested to chase Times Ticking, communicate with them, shipping the watches back twice, the watch has never worked for more than a day or two. Second, the Times Ticking people informed me that since the watch was under warranty, they would fix it, even if it was required to replace the watch movement a second time.I sent the watches back, requesting that they fix the newer Sector watch and change the watchband on watch #1 with the watchband on watch #2. I called and discussed this with a Times Ticking employee, and he said that they would replace it no problem. Fast forward 3 months. I received the watches in the mail, and neither worked, nor was the watchband changed. I am convinced that Times Ticking is a scam, and they never did anything to fix my watch. Shame on Times Ticking. They have spent almost a year dancing around and NOT performing. What a waste of time, money, and energy. ***********************Business Response

He explained and regretted the error on his employees part. He has taken charge of the repair and shipment personally. I appreciated his sincerity. A watch was sent to Times Ticking for an estimate and repair. They said it would cost about $800 to repair the timepiece. They kept the watch for three years - and after repeated phone calls that were usually not answered - they just returned the watch in the same broken condition in which it was sent. No explanation and no refund.Business Response
